Something has changed in the last two months, and the cash register service is laughably bad. >20 minute lines, with the person on register doing other tasks, 2-3 employees standing around and customers visibly agitated.
Same employees as before, when customer service was excellent, so maybe management is putting in some unpopular policies?

We had a fantastic experience at Merit. For coffee, I ordered a cappuccino and cold brew. The group got a cookie, kolache, pop tart, croissant, and breakfast tacos for the group. All were fantastic. Just know that if you come in on a Saturday morning, make sure to come with patience as the line was quite long and moved slow.
For constructive criticism, I suggest the cafe write the names of the pastries on the display so the cashier doesn’t have to spend time explaining to customers what everything is. It was also a bit confusing as to when you’d pick up your food items (upon purchase or when the coffee is ready).
I highly recommend and would put this place in my rotation for coffee in Austin.

Boo: Almost $9 for the signature cold brew, drinks made out of order (why would the two people who ordered later get their hand-pulled espresso shots before a cold brew?), snippy scowling barista, and sour-faced customers.
Yay: The signature cold brew was delicious and the cashier had the only smile in the place. Also, I found Trippy Tacos across the street, a fabulous find!!
Huge line made no difference to the staff who were busy checking text messages and slowly making one coffee at a time despite the line wrapping around the building. Coffee roast not my favorite for espresso. Probably won't be back, but cute spot.

Worst service at a coffee shop. Longest wait ever. There can be >5 people behind the counter but only one making coffee and they are all chatting up.
No sense of customer service or speed of work
Only go there cause it’s the best coffee beans in the area

Meet a client here for juicy intel and strategic thinking over a natural cold brew and migas b’fast tacos.
Used to be my go-to spot for coffee given it’s next door. But for the past few weeks there app is down and you can’t order for pickup anymore and you have to order in the store. The issue is the line there is always out the door and I don’t have time to wait 20min for coffee. I’ve emailed their support and the first time they responded and said they fixed it but the following day and today it’s been down again. Stopped by and here’s the line… unsurprisingly. Merit, if you’re reading this please fix your app and I’ll update this review.

This is my favorite coffee shop on south lamar. They have the best cold brew (at a reasonable price) and the staff is always great.

Stopped by because we wanted to try a new coffee place! Merritt coffee has a cozy vibe to it and their coffee was pretty good! Better than Starbucks and just how you think coffee should taste. Definitely recommend

This is a super cool spot. Not a lot of people smile in Austin area but everyone here was really welcoming.
My hunk of a man likes sweet/tart drinks. They had the Texas Lemonade drink he really liked and I got an almond milk latte with white chocolate syrup and 3 shots of espresso. Delicious.
Also scooped some coffee beans to bring home.

Always crowded but that's fine. It's a coffee shop. Batista are cool. Clientele sucks. Only takes one or two people on zoom calls to ruin the vibe and that's guaranteed to happen, but it draws a younger crowd (<25).
