Great Sushi. Not the most aesthetic and consistent cuts, but extremely delicious sushi with good portion sizes. Very accommodating for gluten free
My favorite date night spot with my wife. We usually don’t have to wait and the sushi is always top-notch!
This is THE best sushi place in Austin for sure. I have been coming here for over 20 years and have never had a single piece of food that wasn’t spectacular!
Great food, once we found the place. The uni was super fresh and the wagu beef was tasty. Service was good.
I recently had the pleasure of trying out a sushi spot that truly exceeded my expectations. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, with soft lighting and the hum of conversation in the background. As for the sushi itself, it was absolutely incredible.
I started with the classic tuna sashimi, and it was incredibly fresh—melt-in-your-mouth smooth with just the right balance of flavors. Next up was the dragon roll, which had the perfect combination of crispy tempura shrimp, creamy avocado, and a drizzle of sweet eel sauce that tied everything together. Each bite was a delightful surprise.
The standout for me was their specialty salmon nigiri. The fish was so tender, with a hint of smokiness, and it paired beautifully with the vinegary rice. The sushi rice was perfectly seasoned—not too sour, not too sweet, just right.
I also appreciated the attentive service. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and they made sure my experience was top-notch. All in all, a fantastic sushi experience that I’ll definitely be revisiting.
The rude waitress thought it was funny to offer me as Black person chicken nuggets...at a sushi restaurant...not coming back..
Hidden gem of Austin
The true essence of traditional Japanese sushi. Still the best gyu tataki in town. The last time I ate here was over twenty years ago, and I swear it still tastes the same. Just perfect.
Love the negiri
TK is the best!

Meh. This use to be our favorite sushi place. Have been going to Mushashino since they were off of MoPac. But last couple of visits were disappointing. The rolls definitely have smaller amounts of fish and more rice, but the same $$$. Our waitress was good this last time and seemed to be working her ass off, so appreciate that. But they also had very limited beer and sake options and only small to go boxes. Honestly this place has gone downhill, which makes me sad. Lots of good memories there.
Love this lil gem! Great sushi and vibes!
Just made our 20th visit. This is the best fish in town with great value and simple clean flavors.
This place is just ok. The price doesn't match the quality for the Omakase. Several better options in Austin.
