We’ve dined in amazing restaurants all over the US and Europe, and Olamaie has been our absolute favorite in Austin for years. We just went there for a special occasion and not only was the meal, every course, exceptional, but the staff went out of their way to make this a wonderful experience for us. The food was absolutely phenomenal—each course truly to die for. We ordered the Rockefeller oysters, the blue crab and corn cold soup, wagyu steak, and sorbet, and every single dish was exquisite. The libations were also excellent and perfectly paired.
That said, I left disappointed by how rushed the experience felt. Before I was even halfway through my cocktail, my glass of white wine was brought to the table, only to sit and warm up while I finished my drink....

Really great restaurant. I’ve been to a number of Michelin star restaurants around the world and I’d say this is definitely on the lower bound of being a 1 star, but I can see why they earned it.
I was pleasantly surprised by the interior—looks much better in person. I think photos make it look MUCH worse than how it actually looks and feels in person. Really nice, simple, classy interior.
