I am so sad to write this review, but Saxon Pub has unfortunately started allowing profit drive to trump the excellent customer service that they used to have. Last night was my second bad experience at a Madam Radar concert there. My boyfriend and I have been following Madam Radar since they were the Texas KGB, and we know their following has grown. In July, my boyfriend and I knew that their Saxon show would likely be packed. So, we arrived for the previous artist and got a non-reserved table on the right. However, when it came time for the Madam Radar concert, the staff made us get up, and they removed the table (along with all other tables on the right side). Luckily, we were able to hustle and get a table on the left, but it was stressful. Then, last night, we knew there were no available tables for the Madam Radar concert. We knew our only chance for seats would be at the bar. So, we purchased tickets for the two artists before, got there four hours before the Madam Radar concert, and were able to get bar seats. However, when it was time for Madam Radar to perform, the Saxon Pub staff made us get up and move downstairs. They then removed all bar seats, forcing us to stand (they allowed people to still stand at the bar, which was weird). We have been Saxon Pub loyalists for years, always recommending it to others as well. Sadly, I don't know if we'll be back. We definitely won't see another Madam Radar concert there. If you want to see Madam Radar, I would recommend other venues, like Antone's. At least there, you know what you're getting. If you're lucky enough to get one of their few chairs, you get to keep it. If you're not, you know you're standing for the night.

jolene is unprofessional and an absolute disgrace to this establishment. you don't kick someone out of a bar just because you don't like their religion or their ethnicety that is illegal. and if I hear of it happing again I will be taking her to court I have more than enough evidence.

Right next door to one of my favorite guitar shops, and the music is always great!!

Jolene was extremely rude and honestly made me never want to come back. But that is the least of my concerns. My main concern is how they treat returning customers, regulars, who are minorities. Last night she ignited a bar wide act of anti semitism, targeting one specific woman who was wearing the Star of David. Regardless of what the political climate is, yelling derogatory slurs to a customer of over two years, getting the entire bar to repeat those slurs and yell until she had no other choice to leave, is UNACCEPTABLE. And DISGUSTING!! I will never return, and make sure none of my friends or family return. I hope Jolene gets booted, she’s making y’all loose business

What an awesome and fun environment! We got to see the TexManiacs followed by Taylor Graves and the Tombstone Trio. The venue is excellent, the musicians are top-notch, and the food is great.

Austin staple, the dive bar with live music there too see friends and take photos for them Willie's daughter and Arlo Guthrie's daughter. Who were great. Great drinks didn't eat. But the menu was standard bar fare.
