I have had the pleasure of going to Sazon for the last 2 years. The people are amazing and the food is even better. This place is an absolute hidden gem. If you are craving mexican food on this side of Austin, Sazon is an absolute must try

Such a lovely local tex-mex location. Please eat here, it deserves it. Went with friends when they visited in town, we are were shocked at how good it was.

Wowzers is this place good! Had the Cochinita Pibil w/ a side of mole. Everything was great—the pork, the rice, the plantains. The mole was some of the best I’ve ever had. Their 1816 margarita was divine. Their salsa is beyond what you’d expect. And the flan….what a way to end the meal. On top of this, every dish is about $15. If you want Mexican in Austin, this is a no-brainer.

Got takeout from here and it was affordably priced and delicious!

Always a great meal at Sazon! Love all of their enchilada options and it always feels like home when we walk in the door. Stopped in today (Valentine’s Day) and enjoyed their special holiday strawberry margaritas. Now I have to decide which enchiladas I want today. The verde, pipian or mole. Can’t go wrong!

Have wanted to try Sazon for a while. We were not disappointed. Choriqueso was fabulous (get the in house made corn tortillas). Enchiladas mole are delightful (i recommend chicken.as it blends much better with earthy flavored mole sauce). My wife had the carnitas with pumpkin verde sauce. Melt in your mouth delicious.
A very strong recommendation for you to try Sazon.

The best no frills, hole-in-the-wall Mexican food experience on South Lamar. This is our favorite spot for Mexican food in the neighborhood and we’ve been coming back again and again for years! The menu is very simple/condensed but the food is SO flavorful and delicious. They also have the best Mexican martini in town, hands down. Staff are always friendly and prompt. This is one of those old school south Austin places that keeps giving.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and then some! In town for a visit and the folks at the liquor store recommended Sazon when we asked for a good authentic mexican restaurant. The salsa is amazing! All three of us got different meals and all were delicious...definitely don't forget desert, yes that was wonderful as well. Mexican Martini ranked right there with the rest of the meal. The gentleman who took our order was so welcoming and friendly (and didn't make fun of me when I pointed at the menu so I wouldn't destroy the name of what I wanted to eat). The corn tortillas alone will have me back next time I'm close to Austin!

Flavorless and old

Flavorless food. Chips were old and really bad aftertaste.

The food was so simple. I was worried it would be bland, but HOLY SMOKES. Every bite was bright and flavorful. The best black beans I've ever had. The tortillas were pliant and supple and had a nice bite to them. The pork was buttery soft and the pumpkin seed sauce, OH MY LORD I was having feelings.

This place takes the basics and owns them. I loved it all. Highly highly recommend
