Good location, very subpar food, and even worse customer service. The contempt and unwarranted rudeness this meat cutter displayed towards my darker-complected brother was bizarre and uncivilized. Fortunately, much better food choices and friendly service abound in adjacent food trucks these days.

If you pass by four points every day and have not tried this austin original yet, put it on your list. Still smoking after all these years!!
I got a chopped beef sandwich and the guy asked if I wanted pickles and onions which was nice of him. Super nice guy and was happy to help.
Chopped beef was really good!

They were closed. It was after 6 pm. I've been going here for 30 years. I certain the food, service, & atmosphere was a 5 when they were open earlier in the day!

I agree with other comments about the bad customer service. I also agree that they don’t like to service minorities. The guy always at the window is Really rude, dry and always has an attitude.

Best food ever! melt in your mouth, bring cash, Great prices!
It's one of those hidden Austin Staples.
Parking: It's a walk to the window to order. Nice outdoor seating nothing fancy. When the lake was full it was the place to stop, also local businesses.
I get the pulled pork sandwich, it is phenomenal!
Enjoy if you ever go.

Randomly caught my eye so gave it a shot. By far some of the best beef I've ever tasted. Got it on a wrap with the onions, pickles and BBQ sauce. It's a weekly stop now for sure.

First time trying the food here and it wasn't good, the brisket lacked flavor, the sausage wrap was cold and not flavorful. Will not be coming back here or to any other locations any time soon. Rudy's has better BBQ than this place.

It’s mainly filled with men getting food during the lunch break, but if you are a lady don’t shy away from this BBQ pit stop. The food is finger licking GOOD!! I ordered the loaded baked potato and it was so good I could not finish it. Parking maybe not the best if you have a low car, but other than that worth the drive. CASH ONLY!!!!

Subpar food with DRY customer service. Idk if dude doesn’t care for minorities or has literally no people skills. Decided to try their breakfast tacos and was not impressed in the least. Maybe if dude would have slightly smiled and seemed like he gave a damn, I would have considered still supporting the run down business. It’s sad, because they’re in a great location to access many sales. I see why people only stop there out of convenience. Try taking credit/debit cards and acting like you WANT customers. I give this place another 2 years tops before it’s rightfully closed.

***Review on breakfast tacos only***
I got two with smoked sausage, egg, and cheese... Loaded to the brim, the tortilla won't even close around it. So good too!
The sausage is link style smoked sausage, they do not have breakfast sausage or bacon, so don't go looking for the more common breakfast taco items. Your choices are link sausage or ham, with egg and potato.
Cash only... Both cost me only $7, so worth it.
Lost one star due to the tortilla (not awesome), and they don't make their own sauce (which is one of my favorite things about BBQ joints... gotta have a good sauce)
Atmosphere is a bit sketch (?)... But hey, It's a barbecue shack with picnic tables... Rustic and homey at best. ?✌?
