The best Taiwanese food truck in Austin. All Taiwanese street foods from here are worth to try. The one that really strike my heart chord is chicken bites bento, the way they make fried taiwanese popcorn chicken will recall my college life in Taiwan 😄😄😄😄🤤🤤🤤🤤

We stopped by Song La at Thicket Food Park and were blown away by their Chicken Bites Box and a side of just the Chicken Bites (aka Popcorn Chicken). Every piece was packed with flavor and had the perfect crispy texture — impressively crunchy right down to the very last bite!
The seasoning was spot on, making it incredibly tasty without being too heavy. Whether you’re craving a full meal or just a snack, their chicken bites are a fantastic choice. If you’re at Thicket, don’t miss out on Song La — you’ll be glad you stopped by!

Song La sits at the top of my list of Austin favorite restaurants. Their braised belly rice is even better than I had in Asia. Pork belly and rice are perfectly mixed together with their authentic sauce. It’s a comfort food for me. My partner always goes for the chicken bites bento. The best fried chicken with Thai basil you can ever imagine. A fun twist—he hates broccoli but somehow only loves the broccoli in this bento.
Shirley is super friendly and welcoming! I started to have Song La when I was in UT. And it has become one of my best Austin memories.

I almost cried when I ate braised egg, it’s just like the one I usually had in TW, exactly the flavor from my hometown!
Chicken is very crispy and favorable, one of the best things we had in this place!

Incredible food, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The pork belly, chicken, and pork chop are all amazing, plus she makes the best hot chili oil on the planet. On top of all that, Shirley is one of the nicest people you can meet. Can't recommend this place enough!

I really liked this food. I got the Chicken Bites Box and it was very filling and very good. I wish they would give a bit more sauce but everything was great. I definitely recommend trying it.
