Incredible tasting and experimental experience. All the flavors are just so carefully thought out (I barely used soy sauce ?) and I loved trying new things. My fav was the homemade potato chip! The service is personal; I did not like (only) one of our choices and not only did they refund, but they gave us an alternative to end with that literally was PERFECTION.

We did take out. We love the food at Soto, but we live in Lakeway with kids so dine-in isn’t always an option. Again, we love this place for their food, but the reliability of take out is really tough. I placed an order to pick up on my way back from the airport. It was supposed to be ready at 7:31. When I arrived, they said “8 more minutes”. Okay, I thought. No problem. Every time I checked in, they told me 10 more minutes. Finally, when my order was 20 min late, I just asked them to give me what was ready and take the rest off the tab. This place is expensive and although the food is wonderful, just be prepared for a lackluster experience if you’re taking it to-go.

Don’t ever ask the owner for a suggestion. They’ll overcharge you. So double check your bill. Food is gross and everything is “imported”…please it’s store bought.

One of the worst places I have ever eaten at. The woman who I guess is a manager said ingredients were imported from Japan. Very expensive we were told. What she didn’t know was I was at HMart earlier in the day and saw her buying the same ingredients there. I lived in Japan for 12 years and know what sushi is. This isn’t it. This is a fusion of Chinese and Japanese flavors that do not mix. My server (bless her heart) was quadruple set in her section and was constantly moving with zero help from the previously mentioned manager who just sat and watched the spectacle with the same sour and bothered look. All in all it was a terrible experience in my opinion. I know reviews can be harsh sometimes but this is all based on my visit and opinion. Maybe they were having an off day.

The food is very much not great. Only some of the dishes were edible, and I was only able to taste the ones that came out on time. Most of our dishes never made it out of the kitchen, because waiting two hours for our 5th course (out of 15 total courses) just seemed ridiculous. The service was absolutely dreadful. When I first walked in, I thought I had been magically transported back to Boston. The place was the mirror image of Oishii Boston. Even the dishes look nearly identical. After talking with the staff, I learned the owner often takes vacations to Boston and steals their allegedly “new food ideas” from that restaurant. Too bad the didn’t also steal the cooks.Do not eat here even if you’re starving to death. Support another great local restaurant. This place should just close down already.

built on a facade of lies, "imported food" its hmart, treating employees badly, and lazily ran and owned, not to mention the idea is entirely stolen from another sushi place

They buy all of thir food from HMART and drop food on the floor all the time and just pick it right up and cook it. They'll charge you out the wazoo if you don't look at the menu and ask for a recommendation, they did it to my 75 year old grandpa!!! They treat their employees like garbage. They are completely racist. Don't go here!!! Key and ma are the cooks and the owners they don't care

A user on Reddit is bashing this place and having people post 1 star reviews because he’s upset he got fired or something so I would honestly ignore a lot of the 1 star reviews that are posted recently.

Went here with my wife. Sushi had hairs in it. Lots of yelling coming from the back. Owner himself tried to over charge me for my dinner. Argued about it when I tried to ask why the price was so high. His wife butted in and cussed at my wife, assuming in Chinese or Japanese. WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN.

God awful food. My waiter was great, but the food was awful, and I could hear someone being yelled at most of the time I was there.

Treats their employees bad, rip off of Oishii Boston. Health inspector needs to investigate them; also stop lying that you’re importing high quality food from overseas when it’s coming from Hmart.
