I really enjoy coming to this food truck. Initially I came for the grilled cheese, but stayed for the smoothies. There’s so much choice with great flavors and options to add different types of protein powders.
I have a soft spot for soup peddler. They fill a great nitch here in Austin but I can’t understand why a place that prides itself on the quality ingredients of its good batch makes its soup and serves it in plastic bags? Freeze it and store it in blocks, sell large quantities in mason jars (hell make it a $2 jar deposit), silicone bags- but hot soup warmed in plastic bags?? Gives me an ick every time I see them pouring chicken soup into a vat from a plastic bag.
I came here for a quick sandwich - I got the turkey and pesto with pepper jack. The sandwich is good value as it was only $6, but it also isn’t anything to write home about. I also got the 8oz soup and this was only $5 and was a good size.
Overall - easy spot to stop into if you need a quick bite to eat and dont wanna spend a lot of money!
