I ordered 4 dozen cake balls (thanks groupon!) for a party I was hosting -- there ended up being quite a few different desserts at the party, but those cake balls disappeared within minutes. Luckily for me, I squirreled away a few lemon ones for myself as a just-in-case strategy. The red velvet, lemon and chocolate were amazing. I would 100% order from them again. You should too ;-)

I needed a small cake at the last minute for my husband birthday. Never heard or had cake balls before, but after reading the reviews decided to give this a try. WOW was I glad I did! The we're soooooooo delicious. She was able to accommodate my last minute request and delivered them to my work. I would highly recommend Sugaplump and can't wait until the next time I need a cake.

We hired Jocelyn to bake our daughter's wedding cake. It was a beautiful wedding despite the fact that the cake, which was paid for in full, was never delivered. After many frantic phone calls, my husband finally spoke to Jocelyn the next day. Yes, she did return our money and apologized for putting the incorrect date on her calendar (despite the fact that the invoice clearly stated the correct date and there was email traffic between Jocelyn and my daughter the week preceding the wedding). Nothing done or said can make up for the fact that a small part of my daughter's wedding did not go as planned. I can't say the wedding was ruined because the wedding cake is not an integral part of a wedding. We had full confidence the cake would have been delicious, however future brides, please be forewarned.

I ordered 2 dozen cakeballs on a groupon for my team at the office and one of them described it best "where did you get those little balls of heaven that just melted in my mouth". LOL, but accurate! 'nuff said.

the dozen (or was it half dozen) cake balls i ordered w a groupon and had delivered were the SMALLEST ive ever seen. they tasted OK. i paid approx $10 w a value u of approx $20 and ended up paying her $7 to deliver so my discount was only like $3.00. she was very nice but her car looked very unsanitary. would not reccommend.

Jocelyn's cake balls are delicious! We ordered a large amount for an event and she not only took the time to make sure we picked a great group of flavors, but also made a trial batch for us to check that the coloring matched our logo. It was a huge surprise to all of the families that came to our event. Jocelyn was a pleasure to work with and we look forward to ordering from her in the future!

Jocelyn was amazing through the whole process. Quick to respond to my (many) questions, very polite and understanding, and willing to change the delivery address to the correct one as I realized I put my home address on the order. Not to mention that the cake balls were out of this world. I highly, highly recommend her if you are looking for a great, local, master of desserts. The whole experience was smooth and enjoyable. I plan on ordering from Jocelyn again when I need something sweet and delicious!

So I ordered a dozen red velvet cakeballs to give to my friend for her birthday. I completely forgot about it, and 2 days later, right on time (the delivery is a 2-hour window) I get a sweet phone call saying my cake balls are right outside my door. They looked beautiful - perfect for a little birthday treat. I decided to just give my friend 10 of them, because I wanted to see how they tasted, and you cant give someone 11. I take a bite and experience the best cake ball flavor I've ever tasted. I wanted to call Jocelyn and ask her what in the world she put in them to make them so good! They are somehow light and fluffy on the inside and have this flavor - i cant put my finger on it - but its the best red velvet ever. I decided not to give these to my friend for her birthday. Im keeping them for myself, and can't decide if i should tell anyone that I have these cake balls, because they might rob my fridge in the middle of the night.

I akin cake balls to fine wines... except for 2 characteristics: you directly talk to your producer and this trend of cake cooked in small bites covered in frosting may not be as long-lasting as the wine industry has proved to be. Now let's analyze how they are similar: made in small batches, possess very fine nuances, and not necessarily the cheapest thing to get into. These balls of cake from SugaPlump are outrageous. I don't like sweets, I don't like frosting, and I sure as heck don't like "cutesy" little bites aside from the fact that you get to take a little taste of everything without boring your palate. Furthermore, I much prefer "cutesy bites" of items such as boudin balls, selections of fritters, and pretty much anything containing animal product. Butter-based confections do not count. So, much like my wine palate, my sweets radar is pretty poor, to be completely honest. Anything to me either tastes good or bad, but there are not many offerings in the world that absolutely blow me away or set me down a downward spiral of hating a specific item. Alas, I sampled all 6 varieties that this fine institution had to offer, and they were all superb. Any friend of vanilla ain't no friend of mine, but if they were friends with the vanilla ball here, I WOULD be friends with him or her. I think part of that is just the description: blonde cake. Nice. I also like that the garnish on each ball sort of gives you an indication. The carrot cake, with its orange sprinkle, was very well spiced. Couldn't have asked for a better carrot ball. Chocolate was excellent, very deep. Red velvet was spectacular, extremely dense in flavor. The lemon was fresh and light. The Italian cream cake... was there coconut mixed in? I think so; very Almond-joy esque. I will not bore you with some clever, inspirational, informative summary, but rather a piece of advice. Yes, these guys will probably be perfect to sit at room temperature, but the "cautionary refrigeration" technique is not only viable information to preserve them but rather my preferred way of eating them! The crackly frosting gets a very hard coating, and the inside stays moist and cold. I prefer cold cake.

Bought a Groupon to try the cake balls. Ordered the lemon ones as lemon is my favorite. WOW, were these great! Easily the best cake balls ever. The cake itself was so moist and creamy. The frosting was delicious and the little bit of crunch on the top of the cake balls are a nice touch. The lemon flavor was there but wasn't overpowering. I heartily recommend these to anyone ordering cakeballs. I'll be telling everyone I know about this bakery.

Wow - I must totally agree with all the other posters on here! Jocelyn makes the most fabulous cake balls I've ever tasted!!! I've purchased cake balls from several different bakeries, using various versions of GroupOn type coupons. I did the same with SugaPlump...and I was NOT disappointed. SugaPlump's cake balls were, by far, the best I've ever tasted!! They were of a nice size (not tiny, but not giant oversized balls either - just right) and were so moist and flavorful. My husband preferred the chocolate ones but my favorite were the French Vanilla. They're so good, I ate three at one sitting! They're beautifully decorated (what IS that clear coating on top? Love it!) and they have kept fresh for over a week, which is nice. Additionally, Jocelyn did the delivery herself...on time...actually ahead of schedule! When she handed them to me she said they are a labor of love - and it definitely shows. I'll be ordering again, even without a coupon. Good luck with the business, Jocelyn!!!

We tried this place out using a Groupon coupon and their cake balls are wonderful! They delivered at the exact time we requested (between 11 and 1 and the sweet girl arrived right at 11). They are packaged beautifully (I posted two pictures) and the balls are absolutely delicious. Their prices are good, too, and we will order again without a coupon. Sometimes places like this are so expensive we will only use a coupon, but not here. I forgot the delivery girl's name, but she told me they are going to open a store soon, I think on Burnet Rd. We can't wait! And we can't wait to try other flavors of their cake balls. They're a good addition to Austin.

I can personally attest that the cake balls from Suga Plump are out of this world! They are so moist, and so delicious. Not only are her desserts wonderful, but Chef J is so pleasant to work with and has really great ideas for custom flavors and combinations.

Oh my god. These little cake balls are heaven. Heaven. I ordered them through the groupon deal, and am so glad that they did that! I got a dozen red velvet, and they arrived the weekend before my birthday when my parents were in town. they are absolute perfection. They're perfectly moist, melt in your mouth, yet solid enough to be portable. Daniel, the delivery person, was so sweet and wondering to work with as well. I was out running errands and had said they could deliver them to my apartment office, but instead he kept trying and came back 4 times to try to get them to me that day.

When I saw Jocelyn's iPhone cookies on a Facebook friend's post, I fell in love! I immediately ordered several dozen for my team (I work at Apple). They were a HIT! Jocelyn not only delivered them on-time, she delivered them herself. Impeccable customer service and with a beautiful smile. We love you Chef J!
