Taqueria La Casita del pastor

First time trying it so I got a few items. The carne asada was great, the pastor tacos with the fresh pineapple lived up to having pastor in the name, and the quesabirria tacos had us wishing we got more. But what blew our mind, maybe because we weren’t expecting it, were the hot dogs. Topped with your choice of meat, they stole the show.

Great spot for El pastor! We found this bit of a hidden gem and have to say was some of the best El pastor tacos we have had here in Austin. They make their own tortillas and the El pastor was juicy, tasty and the pineapple on top hit all the right notes of savory and sweet.

Price for 3 tacos was around $10 which was not bad for the quality and quantity.

They also provide you with 2 salsas, both are no joke and hit a little on the spicier end. Especially the habanero salsa! Add at your own risk!

Only side note for this spot is that it is a bit of a rundown parking lot, we didn’t feel unsafe there but could see that deter some people from going there. Can say from what we saw it wasn’t bad and the covered outdoor dining area kept us from being scorched by the sun.

Parking: There appears to be plenty of parking in front of the truck as well as behind the convenience store nearby.

The most delicious Al Pastor tacos of my life! You know when you can taste when something was made with love, because it’s that good? Well, it’s because these tortillas were handmade, not store bought…the pastor was perfectly marinated, the green salsa was creamy just like I like it, and the Agua Fresca was *muah, chefs kiss*. I am so, so happy I came here tonight because it’s truly delicious. Portions were perfect and filling too! Service: Brian was so sweet, I followed his recommendations and I was impressed by his charisma and service. This little food truck is truly a gem.
