Still operating right next-door and are open from 7 to 2 every day. Missed this little gem for a while and just recently found out they had this open next-door. Come support them, great treats!

So glad to learn it has reopened after the devastating fire!!!

The portions are terrible for how high the cost is. When you order a half sandwich for about 12$, they cut the (already small) slices of bread in half and throw the rest away, which is unseemly. Also, there was a noticeable amount of food waste visible outside which was attracting flies and repulsive. The food itself (the little you do get) actually tastes nice and the outdoor area has some nice plant decorations, but that does not outweigh the negatives at all.

I'm glad to see TFB is still open. I have great memories of this place, and it's encouraging to see that it survived the fire.

I ordered a sandwich without much awareness of the price. When it was rung up I learned that I was getting the world’s most expensive sandwich. I was so excited but it turned out to be just a sandwich. Now I only visit to see if there is water in a bowl for my dog.

We had a blueberry muffin, cinnamon roll, and a raisin scone. All were very average for a bakery and slightly dry. The coffee was bitter. We also each had a breakfast sandwich that could have easily been made at McDonalds. Total bill with 15% tip was $71.

The server seemed disinterested in serving customers and would rather chat with other employees.

Pretty lame. Not coming back any time soon.

I've had a croissant everywhere in Austin. Nothing compares to the magic of the Croissants from Texas French Bread. I want to cry they're so GOOD! Literal happy dance every time I eat them 😇🥰

Had a bad experience working there as an employee. Me,being the only African American server, was let go the first week after the owners realized I didn’t fit the image of the restaurant.

Delightful little oasis just off a busy street and you wouldn’t notice. Try the cereal milk latte and the bread is fresh. Watch for acorns.

Even before their 2022 fire, it had been many years since I visited TFB, a place I frequented in my days as UT. We decided to try it for brunch on a gorgeous weather day to sit outside and were bitterly disappointed with the value. The photo is of my $14 (before tip) meal! I took the pic about 1/3 way thru the avocado toast bec I was still reeling at the price and thought it best to give some feedback. The thin slice of bread with some well seasoned mashed avocado was delicious, but that was literally all we got! The cappuccino was horrid, like it came out of an instant pod, bec it had a weird after taste. I would love to continue supporting a local staple. But TFB, you gotta do a little better for the price point and can’t just call it avocado tartine so it sounds fancy but not deliver. At least a small side of fruit or breakfast potatoes or perhaps 2 slices of avocado toast, if that’s all that’s being served, so we don’t have to drive away from brunch and literally go shell out more money for lunch and better coffee elsewhere! The outdoor seating was dog friendly and lovely under trees but the uneven footing may be a little tough for those with mobility issues.

A truly gift-like place. The leaves on the long branches of the oak tree extending downward block out the sunlight, giving it a cozy feeling. It's a great place to come in mid-November when the sun is shining and the wind is cool in Austin.

On Saturday afternoon, many people leisurely come out, park their cars in front of the store, and enjoy a meal. Eating a simple sandwich alone or having brunch with family are good options.

A clerk takes orders in front of a small food truck. There is a table in front of the clerk selling French bread such as croissant and baguette, so if you only want bakery items, you can pick them up right away.

Recommended for those who want to feel the gentle breeze on holiday.
