Great place to visit. Very friendly staff
Poor customer service, waiter skipped us and took order from someone who showed up 15 minutes after us, so about 40 before we got to place order. When the food came out the sweet potato fry’s were ice cold and my small quail was dry and burnt. Spent $43 for cold sweet potato frys, a burger and frys and quail and frys. Very disappointed and will not go back as the wait staff was more busy talking and cussing instead of working.
Definitely a negative 5, we had a table of 5 and waited an hour, every 15 the server taking names kept saying “we’re just waiting for a table of 5, they’re fixing to stand up” etc etc. this was going to be my first time here and was excited to try but I’d never step foot back at this establishment. Counter Cafe is a popular spot for breakfast with friendly staff. The Migas and Eggs Benedict are delicious and amazing, though the sausage can be bland. The Southern Poached Eggs are served over excellent cheese grits and collards. The menu features fresh, locally sourced food with a delightfully diverse menu for vegetarians and those with dietary restrictions. The Joe's special with eggs, sausage, spinach, and potatoes is highly recommended. The coffee is excellent and mimosas are tasty. Sitting at the counter near the kitchen provides a cool view of the chefs preparing meals in a groovy, lively atmosphere, but it can get warm from the ovens. The pancakes are considered the best part of the menu and the best ever had, especially the pumpkin pancake. The strawberry banana French Toast is fluffy and flavorful, with fresh fruit that is not soggy, and the eggs are scrambled with a little cheddar. The atmosphere is great for both solo diners and groups and feels like a family place. A visit to this place offers outstanding food and great, prompt, personable and professional service, with a unique and creative menu.
