“My wife and I visited Austin (Barton Creek Area) which is amazing by itself. We were headed back to Dallas and wanted breakfast. There were lots of choices but this place stood out. OMG I’m glad we went. Got on the waitlist and it went quick. The staff at the greet stand were nice and friendly but when we got to table, it went up a notch!!
STEPHANIE WAS AMAZING!! Now don’t let her occasional “hell yeah” fool you for something bad. It is her affectionate way for letting you know that “something is good and a great option!” She was wonderful and so was the food. I got chicken and waffles and wife got breakfast quesadillas. This will be a familiar place in our stops when we visit that area. That STEPHANIE. Keep shining 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾“

“This place was excellent! I had a boozy salted caramel Iced coffee that was amazing. The cinnamon roll french toast was delicious with fresh fruit and an ooey gooey drizzle. The Floridian omelette was rich and full of flavor. The grits were so creamy, I requested some cheese on top but it honestly didn't need any. the Bacqueza Omelette was savory and smokey with just enough spice and creaminess from the cream cheese. Our server Isaiah was polite and provided us great service. The only issue we had was how rude and uninterested the hostess was.“

“This is my new favorite beverage bar on the trail. The attention to detail is insane. Handmade, crafted, natural, and beautiful drinks. Yes, that is a pineapple slushy topped mocktail with a raspberry rosemary twist. The drinks are a large portion too. The smoothy was very filling and just sweet enough so that every fruit shined. This is not your average food truck. Everything this duo does is well thought out and passionate! See y'all soon as this is now a must stop for meeeee!“

“Solid breakfast experience. The presentation was clean and thoughtful — bright eggs, crisp bacon, and toast that hit the right level of crunch. The potato cake stood out: well seasoned, golden, and paired nicely with the sauce underneath. The cheddar grits were rich and creamy, though slightly heavy. Bacon was thick-cut and perfectly crisp, sausage patty flavorful with good sear. Service was efficient and friendly, and the atmosphere matched Austin’s laid-back brunch vibe. The only critique: portion size could be slightly larger for the price, and the toast could use a touch more butter. Overall, Paperboy delivers a balanced, well-prepared breakfast that feels crafted rather than routine. Strong 8/10 — worth revisiting.“
“If you're visiting the State Capitol by yourself, or with out-of-town guests, at some point you're going to get hungry. One block away from the Capitol, at 922 Congress Avenue, is the Tastea Deli. It's a small family-owned business led by Grace Yom. My wife and I stopped in for lunch and tried a few of their sandwiches and specialty beverages. The deli may be small, but the tastes are big! All sandwiches are offered in three sizes - 4.5, 7 and 10 inches. We chose The Italian and the Chipotle Ham and Turkey Sandwiches. I tried their Strawberry and Banana Smoothie and my wife had the Kiwi Pomegranate Iced Tea. What I noticed first about both sandwiches, was the extremely fresh bread. The bread held the sauces well and did not break apart. My wife does not eat a lot, and her small sandwich was the perfect size. She gave me a bite and the meats really blended well with the Chipotle dressing and veggies. They did not oversauce it. I loaded up my 10-inch Italian with all the veggies they had except for jalapeños. I went with banana peppers instead. The meats included capicola, pepperoni, salami and ham, as well as provolone cheese. Tasty blend of flavors, sauces perfectly with their house Italian dressing. My smoothie was also really good. They sell a ton of smoothies according to Grace (See picture for other flavors) My wife also loved her tea. They ask you the level of sweetness you want in it, and if you want it with boba. Other items to consider trying are the Chicken Ranch, Roast Beef and the Chicken. Prices range from $6.50 - $11.50. I am trying the Beef Dip on my next visit. From outside, the corner space is pretty unremarkable, just a faded green awning with an old Quizino logo burned into it. A small sign says you've arrived at Tastea Deli. Inside it is sparsely decorated but clean, and the staff is very friendly. Last thought: On a small table in the corner of the restaurant sat a Bible opened to the Gospel of Matthew. I asked Grace about it. She simply said, sometimes people just need some good news. If that's not your thing, ignore it. Grace and her team will make sure you leave with your belly full with good food. And seriously, get a smoothie...soooo good!“
