Managed to catch a show the other night in this well known classic Austin venue. I didn't have tickets so I paid the $20 cover at the door. I had no clue who the band was or what sort of music it was going to be, but I wasn't disappointed. Anytime I'm in this town I really don't worry about such things when I hit up a club or bar as it seems most places do a great job booking some very impressive talent. The Continental is no different. Great atmosphere...
Hopping place on a Saturday afternoon. We will go back and stay longer next time. The band was rocking without being pretentious. Check it out if ever in Austin on South Congress.
This review was so hard to post, it would have been a solid 5 stars, bar staff were incredibly friendly, music was INCREDIBLE and the vibes of the place were lovely. However, left with a really sour taste in our mouths, we’re visiting from Australia - this type of bar is non existent where we live, at the end of the night we wanted to buy some shirts to take home. We went to the door man in overalls, asked him if we could have a look at some shirts. He was reading a guitar picture...
