Outstanding, authentic Greek experience. We loved everything and it reminded us of our trip to Greece.

The Greek White and Rosé wines were perfect.

All the food was delicious, made fresh on site, and wonderful. Everything from the fresh warm pita and whipped feta, Greek (feta brined) fried chicken, spanokopita, and octopus impressed.
The fried cheese and baklava were my standouts, but everything was great! The best baklava we've ever had. Melts in your mouth.

The service matched the food and everyone was super attentive in just the right way.

We will definitely come back and recommend it highly!

So glad we came here🙌

Have been here for lunch and dinner, food has been excellent. Spanakopita and stuffed grape leaves were great, and the lamb chops are a must. Can’t wait to return and sit on the porch.

The food was delicious! I went with a unsweetened tea, chicken skewer plate and Greek potatoes.

Came to Austin to visit my daughter - we had an amazing brunch and dinner at The Greek Bar. The spanakopita, lamb chops, and Athenian florentine were my favorites. My husband loved the whole fish.

Loved it! Reminds me of a restaurant I went to in Crete. Loved the food. Amazing service. The water was always filled and every attention to detail was looked at. Absolutely superior Moussaka. Probably the best I have had. The spanakopita is excellent. All sauces are on point. Plenty of parking as there is an overflow lot a very short walk away. Perfect restaurant experience. We will be back!

I recently visited The Greek Bar in Austin, and this place absolutely delivered on every level. From the moment you see the glowing blue sign outside at night, you already feel like you’re stepping into something special. The exterior is warm and inviting, with soft patio lighting and a cozy Mediterranean vibe. It feels intimate but lively at the same time.

Inside, the ambiance is beautiful. White brick walls, arched windows, clay urns, soft lighting, and subtle Greek decor make it feel authentic without being overdone. It’s stylish but still relaxed. Whether you’re there for date night, dinner with friends, or a family gathering, the space just works. The atmosphere feels elevated yet comfortable.

We started with spreads and warm pita, and that alone set the tone for the night. The pita was soft, fluffy, and served warm. The tzatziki was fresh and creamy with the perfect garlic and cucumber balance. The other spreads had rich textures and bold Mediterranean flavors, topped with olive oil and herbs. The pickled vegetables and olives added that perfect tangy contrast. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared.

For the mains, we had the lamb skewer and the chicken skewer, both served over yellow rice pilaf with sides.

The lamb skewer was outstanding. Juicy, well-seasoned, and grilled perfectly with a beautiful char on the outside while staying tender inside. It had that authentic Greek spice profile without being overpowering. Paired with the rice, tzatziki, and pickled vegetables, every bite was balanced. The red onion salad on the side added freshness and acidity that cut through the richness of the meat.

The chicken skewer was just as impressive. Perfectly grilled, flavorful, and not dry at all. It came with both tzatziki and a red pepper sauce that added a slightly smoky, mildly spicy kick. The rice was fluffy and aromatic, not plain or bland. You can tell they care about every component on the plate.

We also ordered the roasted Greek potatoes, and those deserve their own mention. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, seasoned beautifully with herbs and lemon. They were addictive. Not greasy, not under-seasoned, just perfectly done.

To finish, we had baklava. And this was the perfect ending. Flaky layers of phyllo pastry, generously filled with nuts, and soaked in just the right amount of honey syrup. It wasn’t overly sweet or soggy. It had that perfect crisp-to-soft texture that real baklava should have. Simple but executed perfectly.

The cocktails were also well crafted. Served in solid glasses with clear ice, balanced flavors, not overly sweet, and thoughtfully presented. You get that crafted cocktail feel, not something rushed.

Now let’s talk about service. Top notch. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. They explained dishes, gave recommendations confidently, and checked in at the right times without hovering. That kind of service makes a huge difference. You feel valued as a guest.

Overall, The Greek Bar is a solid 5 out of 5. Great ambiance, authentic flavors, beautifully prepared food, strong cocktails, and exceptional service. It’s rare to find a place that gets everything right, but this one does.

Most recommended if you’re in Austin and looking for a Mediterranean spot that truly delivers. Definitely going back again.

Unfortunately, our experience for the Valentine's Day Dinner was less than ideal, to say the least.

Our third course, the chicken and filet mignon, showed up to our table cold. Our waiter routinely checked in to upsell additional rounds of drinks when ours were barely touched. It felt like the staff's priorities were more about pushing certain drinks/dishes than creating a positive experience.

Normally, this would all be a moot point if the quality of the meal was even above average, but that was not the case. Each dish lacked flavor and felt loosely put together, which for $60 per person just for the reservation is severely lacking.

As first time patrons to this establishment we were let down.

Highlights: Moussaka (cucumber perfectly cooked); Spanakopita (soooo good); pita bread with 3 spreads (Tzatziki, Tirokafteri, Skordalia all fire); lamb skewer and saffron rice; baklava (amazing)

Wouldn't get again: ribeye (a little chewy; seasoning and potatoes good though); kalamari (not crispy); donuts (too flavorless and doughey in the middle)

Very nice interior aesthetic, and good service.

Made same day reservations, we love Greek food but didn’t want to travel too far. The new brunch hours worked out! Had amazing drinks, food & dessert! Service was excellent as well. Our 8 year old was trying to venture out of her normal fried food and she loved the pancakes! They were soft fluffy and sweet! Chicken was perfectly cooked but the potatoes & veggies were def our favorites.

Such an amazing new restaurant with friendly staff and lots of food/drink options. I loved this place because it didn’t feel like one of those trendy, new spots that didn’t deliver but actually a place where management cared about the customers’ experience. The Greek inspired cocktails were so unique and they’re dog friendly with heaters outside which is always a plus!
