I was here for the Song Sung Blue premiere party. They opened the space for everyone to mingle and get photos. The bartenders made some fun drinks. For super fans of Pantalones they have the blanco. I’ll have to try it again to see if they have gf df food. Of course I enjoyed the Alamo Drafthouse popcorn for the show!

This karaoke spot was a blast! We managed to snag a small private room at an unbeatable rate of just $30 an hour last minute. The drinks were also great. It’s a fantastic date night spot or a fun way to spend a chilly or rainy night in Austin. The service was top-notch! We only had drinks, so I can’t rate the food, but the bartender crafted a custom NA French 75 that was delicious. And while you wait, you can sing karaoke on the main stage.

Amazing karaoke experience in the private rooms and it’s truly the impeccable service that sets this place above the rest. Our server Ben was attentive, funny, helpful, and made our night perfect. The Big Top circus themed room is SO fun and we will definitely be back. Huge shout out to Ben for going above and beyond. We had an amazing time!!

I wish I could tell you that I had a great time. However, I guess this karaoke bar doesn't really cater to solo karaoke people. Because you at least gotta have a two people minimum. so even though I wanted to have a fun time by myself, I was denied being able to pay for the karaoke room. I don't really understand why if I'm willing to pay the actual charges for it. But I guess that's the way things go.

Booked a private karaoke room at Highball for my birthday with friends and we had an amazing experience. Our server was extremely attentive, and the food and drinks we all great. The karaoke itself was also great, as the selection of songs was extensive and the system for queuing up songs worked seamlessly. My only nitpick is the room I was in (Joysticks) has a maximum of 14 guests. My group had 12, and everywhere to sit was taken. Granted, most of the time people were standing so it wasn’t a big deal, but worth considering a bigger room if you want more space. I’d love to come back.

The was the first time checking out the bar. I'm glad a 90s group was performing there that night cause it was good music to listen too while chilling with a friend. I liked the seating area as well. Even though I didn't dance the dance floor was a decent size.

Fun place to go to as a group. Most of the time their website is down so you can't sign up early online. Sometimes they host events so you can't get a room during that which is frustrating. It's hard to tell when those events are since their website barely works. You might end up like us and drive over an hour to go to celebrate a birthday just to be told to wait for an hour because of an event going on downstairs.
This was my first time at the highball. I went to see the mortified show. The show was great. The venue was amazing. The bar staff left a lot to be desired. They weren’t very helpful or kind. Would it kill them to smile at the customers.

I went to The Highball last night to see Mortified, and the show itself was fantastic. Unfortunately, the bar staff really dampened the evening. The bartenders were noticeably rude, snappy, and dismissive when taking orders. It made the atmosphere less welcoming than it should have been.
The entertainment was great, but the service definitely needs work.

The venue is nice and the entertainment is cool but what really rubbed me wrong was that all tabs have an automatic 18% gratuity added and they didn't tell me nor did they have it written on the menu. My drink was priced at $13 and came to $16.60 i tipped $3. When I asked about the price difference the bar tender pulled a small notice teepee from behind the bar and informed me that the menus arnt updated yet but that the 18% gratuity was added to call bills. Then he put the info teepee back behind the bar where no one can see it. Seems illegal and sketchy

Someone who really stood out to me was Delta. She was always extremely sweet and attentive, my go to bartender everytime! You’re missing out if you haven’t stopped by the Highball.
