Visiting Austin for the weekend and walked past on my way to CVS. Lovely atmosphere with music playing and food smelled delicious so I made a pit stop. Terica and the other servers were all friendly and answered all my questions . Ended up getting two beef phatty’s and wished I didn’t already have lunch. Will have to stop by again before leaving.

First, the positives: the service at the ordering counter was quite good. The process of ordering at the register was smooth, and the menu offered a wide variety of options.

Now the negatives: we waited nearly 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Slow service isn’t necessarily a dealbreaker for us, but lack of acknowledgment from the restaurant staff on the long wait was a major disappointment. The food itself was decent, but not extraordinary. We ordered the...

I don’t leave reviews often, but I felt compelled to get the word out about this hidden gem. Trap House is hands down one of the best restaurants in Austin. The vibes are relaxed, the service is good, and the food… oh my god the food. You have to get the oxtails, and I could practically drink the trap sauce. Im not sure what you’re doing still reading reviews when you could be eating some of the best Caribbean food in the country. Go try it!
