Unfortunately, our experience at this location was less than expected. We were there on Sat. 12/6 around 2p & even though the area was very busy, the restaurant was mostly empty. Lots of available tables & seating. The hostess greeted us coldly & said there would be a 15-20 minute wait. I asked why the delay looking around at the empty tables, & she said it was because of the staff shift change. We then saw the bar & looked like we could sit there. She said yes so we proceeded to sit there. The bartender seemed quiet frustrated prepping supplies & even though she gave us waters, we had to ask if we could order after 20 minutes. She was cordial but her mood was not very inviting. However, there was another staff member that came to help prep some items & she was very friendly. We had a lovely conversation with her. But again, the original bar staff member was really cold. Our food arrived after another 25 minutes & everything was cold. Flavors were good but just not what we have experienced in the past. AND, we ordered a chopped salad ($15) expecting it would be large enough to share however, it was a small bowl. Very disappointing. We had even told the bartender that we would be sharing. We had to ask for water refills 2x & overheard several staff members having conversations on the side of the bar complaining about someone or something. Overall this was such a disappointing experience. We have been here before & loved it but today was not that day.

I had a lovely experience, hosting my birthday with a dozen of my friends. We all had a wonderful time sitting outside on a beautiful day. The food was delicious and everybody enjoyed their meal. Our waiter was great and able to deliver our food with speed and Grace

Our food never came. The waiter finally told us our ticket fell on the floor. 30 minutes later we got it wrapped up to go along with a full price bill. No comped food. No offer of a discount on our next visit. Really disappointing.

We made a reservation for 6:00 p.m. and arrived prior to this time. There were very few other diners in the restaurant (probably because of what we experienced last night), and we believed that we would receive our drinks and food quickly because of this (we had theatre tickets and did not want to be late for the production. We did not even think to ask to have our order expedited since the restaurant was mostly empty). It took quite a while for us to receive water and for our waitress (who also seemed to be the bartender as she was preparing drinks for the wait staff behind the bar (we were seated in the main dining room, so we are not sure why we would be assigned to the bartender when she had to also make drinks and when there were many other wait staff who could have attended to us) to take our order. It took over 46 minutes for our entrees to come out, and we had to ask for them with multiple servers. We also noticed that there were mostly to-go orders being processed (a significant number of large bags of food were being prepared and taken out by people coming in to pick up these to-go bags). When we noticed all of these to-go orders, we immediately asked for our entrees, our check and our dessert to be brought out right away so that we would not be late to the production (and even though we did this, we were very late). We asked multiple servers for our check, but it still took ten minutes for them to bring our check out to us. We felt mostly ignored during our time at this restaurant and were shocked to have to wait so long for our food to come out when the restaurant was mostly empty. The service was also not very friendly, which was disappointing, as we were trying to create a special night of dinner and a Broadway in Austin show with our son who attends UT. We used to love True Food Kitchen and dined there often, but it clearly no longer cares much about its in-restaurant diners. This is probably why once used to be a full restaurant at night was mo

Although we were disappointed that our menu requests were not available and the food did take a while, we appreciated the hospitality of our server, Seth, and the hostess (name unknown) who accommodated our table request outside and even brought us a container of dog treats for our puppy! As for the food itself,, the homemade sourdough pizza crust was delicious! And so was my boyfriend's turkey burger! We both enjoyed a sweet cup of butternut squash, soup garnished with rosemary. We were not disappointed!

We ate outside on a Friday evening in October and the service was outstanding. All 3 of us loved our meals. We even ordered seconds of the Chocolate Lava Cake for dessert. Amazing!

We started off with the beer one of our party ordered being out. Then we ordered the French fries for our table being out. Then one of the entrees one party ordered was out. This was such a great impression (said sarcastically). None of us had been to True Food before. Three of our party had ample food and enjoyed it. One of our party did not have ample food as the entree was skimpy. what else can I say.

It took 2 hours for us to get our food. There were only a few people in dining room, but the kitchen was way too slow! Will never recommend this to anyone. We were very disappointed. The manager should have comped us, but just made excuses.

Great service but not a fan of the food recipes. The sause on my steak dish wasn't good and my friends pasta wasn't good either. Hummus was delicious however
Good healthy food for a variety of tastes and appetites. Our server was attentive, helpful, friendly. The flourless chocolate cake was one of the best desserts I've had in a long time.
