Truluck's Ocean's Finest Seafood and Crab

We had an incredible experience at Truluck’s Austin on Saturday night, and I truly can’t say enough good things about the team.

We walked in without a reservation on one of the busiest nights of the week (Saturday!), after leaving another restaurant where the food just didn’t meet expectations. Annie and Bella at the front were absolutely amazing they somehow got us a table as soon as possible, which felt nearly impossible on a Saturday night. Their kindness, professionalism, and urgency completely set the tone for our evening.

Sergio, our waiter, was outstanding. He guided us through the menu, helped us choose the best dishes, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the night. His service was warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful.

To top it all off, the roses on the table were a beautiful surprise and made our anniversary dinner feel truly special.

From start to finish, the service, food, and attention to detail were exceptional. Truluck’s turned what could have been a disappointing night into a memorable anniversary experience. We’ll absolutely be back — and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for top-tier service and an unforgettable evening.

This was my first time dining here, and I'll definitely be back. I was visiting town for work and was invited here for dinner by a coworker. The crab was unbelievably delicious. It was also my first time ever trying Oysters, and I'm now a big fan! The martinis were also made perfect.

UPDATE (11/29/25): After another rough day losing our pup of 11 years, we returned to Truluck's and the experience was better than remembered. Curtis was an amazing waiter to me and my family as we celebrated my dog's life. The Steak Frites were incredible and perfectly cooked and my Old Fashioned was well-made and tasty. Overall, this meal made a tough weekend a lot more tolerable. Lots of place to get great food in Austin but good hospitality elevates. Thank you, Truluck's.

The hospitality at Truluck's is second to none. On a day filled with sadness for me and my fiancee, the entire staff made us feel so welcome, special, and taken care of.
We lost our cat of 17 years earlier that day and when my fiancee made our reservation on OpenTable, she noted that. Not only did the maître d' greet us with genuine enthusiasm but he expressed sincere condolences that were not lost on us.
The hostess and waitress also expressed their condolences and proceeded to help us have one of the best dinners we've ever had. The food was amazing and when you couple that with the outstanding service and hospitality, the price is more than justified. What could have been a sad affair put a smile on our face for the first time all day and we celebrated the life of our cat with gusto.
The drinks were high quality and my Salmon Bearnaise was beyond excellent. Our waitress was attentive but not pushy and incredibly nice.
This is truly a special occasion place and if you're worried about not getting your money's worth, fret not. When you're looking at all the incredible options for steakhouse and seafood in Downtown Austin, please put Truluck's on the top of your list. I know they are on the top of mine.

Beautiful food presentation.More than adequate portions. My daughter and son-in-law lost a beloved 11-year old husky dog. It was a memorial dinner for them. Our waiter, Curtis, wasnt just empathetic, he was exceptionally knowledgeable, efficient, kind, and generous with a baked Alaska. A true gentleman. He made dinner an experience.

Waiter wonderful atmosphere cute. Food was just ok for the price you expected well curated flavors but definitely missed the mark. The seafood is fresh but things were very very over salted.

Recommended dishes: Lobster Bisque

We visited for the Thanksgiving special. The portion sizes were generous definitely more than enough for one person. The overall food quality was good, but most dishes were pretty bland. The pecan salad didn’t have any dressing and felt more like a bowl of chopped vegetables. The cauliflower soup was okay but lacked flavor.
The turkey was juicy and well-cooked, and the stuffing was fine but nothing special. The cranberry sauce was very sour; it would’ve been much better with a bit more sweetness. The desserts, however, were all fresh, delicious, and definitely the highlight of the meal.
The restaurant’s décor is really nice and creates a pleasant atmosphere.

Great drinks and ambience was great. We got the table I requested and all was going well. Very slow waiter and didn't check on us often. I asked for med plus and usually it is pink but my steak came back burnt and grey. Maybe the waiter should have asked or describe what medium plus is at Trulucks. Molten cake wasn't what I was familiar with eating. I got a slice of cold chocolate cake that had a thick heavy layer of icing and a side dish of warm chocolate drizzle. I'm used to a small chocolate cake with a warm chocolate filling inside the cake. This experience was meh and it's the first time my review is all over the place but that's how I felt on Thanksgiving.

Everything we consumed was top notch! They even figured out a way to make rice delicious! I usually take a pass on the bland rice on my plate. Not sure what they did but it was magical!

There's no finer restaurant than Truluck's! The atmosphere, drinks, and food are fantastic! The staff is knowledgeable, pleasant, and kind.

Truly fine service. We visit Truluck's when we have a special occasion to celebrate and they never disappoint. I highly recommend. Especially since my daughter and I have Celiac and must avoid gluten, Truluck's takes care of us!
