This hotel restaurant is 5 minutes from our house. It’s been there for approximately 2 1/2 years and I had no idea it existed. While running errands at five in the evening I decided I didn’t want to cook so I googled restaurants in my zip code. This restaurant popped up with 4.5 stars. The reviews were impressive so we decided to try it. I’m so happy that we did. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The restaurant is lovely, well appointed, and has great ambience. The bar tender, Ray, was so attentive and helpful with the menu. Probably the best martini I’ve ever had. I don’t say that lightly as our business was based in travel so I’ve dined in some very prestigious hotel restaurants as well as enjoyed fine dining during many business dinners. The drinks were stellar and the food exceeded my expectations. We enjoyed the lamb meatballs in an agradolce sauce and the brisket nachos. Both were superb. I am extremely critical of food as I’m a very good cook(aspiring chef)😊 This will be on our frequent flyer list from now on. The prices are very reasonable. In today’s economy we have experienced a sudden and universal decline in food quality with more than a few restaurants. This was such a pleasure, surprise, and all around delightful experience. Fresh ingredients with perfectly blended spices speak for themselves.

I have a two complaints... the second, ties into the first.
The Complaints:
1) I stopped in at the bar for a drink before going to my room. I ordered a single 2oz pour of Oban 14, Neat... (Oban 14 is about $80.00/bottle; Figure about $10-20 (+/-) a 2oz pour in most places. I was shocked to see that they charged me $40.00 for the pour! I looked at their menu (picture attached) and they have listed Oban Little Bay at $40.00 (approximately same price/bottle. as the 14). I decided to cash out... and this brings me to my second complaint.
2) They automatically charge an 18% gratuity to every transaction. Admittedly this is rather nit-picky... Some probably prefer to have them assess gratuity and then they dont have to worry about it. I however, prefer to apply gratuity based on service; I tend to tip extremely well in this regard. However in this matter. I was, in my opinion, overcharged for bottom shelf glass of scotch. Then charged a $5.00 gratuity on top of it without my knowledge. I do not like establishments arbitrarily taking money out of my pocket. The next morning, I brought my concerns to the bartender, who, equally surprised, relayed it to a manager... who declined to facilitate any type of compensation. Which is fine, I honestly did not expect it.... I had hoped they would in adjust the price accordingly to their stock and save others from the shock of inflated pricing. Thats all on that matter.

Now, the Good news. Later that evening my wife an I returned for dinner , we had a meal and a cocktails and the bill only came to a surprising and much more reasonable $35.00 and change. The food was very good. The Bartenders were attentive and helpful. However I still cringe at the auto gratuity, but I tipped extra for the exemplary service.

It's set inside a hotel, so they can't do much about the ambience. But don't let that scare you away. Everything we had on the menu was fantastic. We were very surprised. From the chicken to the pizza to the pasta, it was all much more tasty than I felt it had a right to be.

Finding this hidden gem turned our meal into a “lunch date” for my hubby and me. Loved the ambience of the hotel. The restaurant has open feel with an inviting, well-stocked bar. We split the queso/hummus appetizer and then shared the patty melt with a side of fries. The appetizer was served immediately and was warm and yummy. The double meat patty sandwich was more than ample to split and the fries were perfectly seasoned, crispy to the bite and soft on the inside. Just perfect! Bonus, parking was just outside the door.

I can’t believe I’m writing a review about a hotel bar/restaurant, but it was THAT GOOD. I live in Wells Branch, and I kept seeing this place pop up on my Google maps, so out of curiosity, I went with a friend. We like to dine at fancy places occasionally and have to say this place really surprised us how good it was. It’s not cheap, but it has all the quality of the best domain restaurants without the parking hassles and crowds. We will definitely go back! Oh- and they give a local discount!

Bartender was MIA. The hotel manager did a great job though filling in. Cocktails are high quality. Peach marg and old fashioned were very well done. I image even better if they had a dedicated bartender on duty. Have not tried the food. Other cocktail options on the menu did not sound that appealing to me.

Here’s a review you could use:

We had a wonderful dinner at Uptown Lounge Craft Kitchen and Cocktails tonight! We started with the feta dip served with sourdough bread—creamy and full of flavor, a perfect start to the meal. For our main courses, I enjoyed the creamy linguini with shrimp, which was deliciously rich and perfectly cooked, while my husband had the patty melt, which he loved. The bar menu was impressive, offering a great variety of options. Our servers, Tori and Ashley, were friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The ambiance was quiet and dimly lit, ideal for a relaxed evening. We’ll definitely be back!
