This place came highly recommended but i wasn’t blown away. There were quite a few hiccups which didn’t make any sense.Pros:* beautiful restaurant, loved the decor* very courteous and friendly staff* diverse and eclectic menu* PAO PAO FTW! btw, it’s messy but worth it.Cons:* bit disorganized, some menu items weren’t available. The menu is quite small, so it’s not a good sign when 4 items weren’t available.* Saag Shakshuka: they didn’t offer any bread/bun/crackers/toast to enjoy this meal. When asked, they charged $3 for 1 toast. Ridiculous! I’ve had Shakshuka many times and I’ve never received it without bread. The shoestring potatoes didn’t act like a bread, if given the option.. i would’ve omit that for a piece of bread.Overall, I’d come back for Pao Pao and the ambiance but that’s about it.

We had a wonderful meal! We skipped the Chef's menu because we wanted the pork ribs and no substitutions are allowed. We had the ribs, the red snapper, garlic naan with fermented chili butter (!!), short rib empanadas (!!!), and the chocolate cremeux for dessert! We also indulged in some very delicious cocktails. The service was very good although actually a little much for us at times. Our server was a bit of a close talker and very keyed up. However, she did give us excellent service, we just prefer things a bit lower keyed. All in all, though, a wonderful meal and a great restaurant. A bit pricey considering the size of the portions offered but so delicious we left very happy. Cool atmosphere in East Austin!

Perfect place for brunch. They have a Goan inspired menu that’s the perfect balance of flavor and spice. I got the peri peri chicken and waffles wifey got Pao Pao sandwich. Highly recommend both (see pics).

Very limited menu, completely over priced for the quality of food. No wonder so many reservations available during ACL weekend. I always wonder, does anyone ever taste test food for chefs to make sure the quality is there?

This restaurant hit that sweet spot of good food, reasonable prices, decent wine list, nice decor, and music that is pleasant and not too loud (a pet peeve of mine with many new Austin restaurants); plus - what a catchy name based on an old fable. While I am not a vegetarian, it had many veggie options and will be our new go-to for taking vegetarian/vegan friends.

First experience for my wife and me at Vixen's Wedding. The food was excellent and well prepared. The Garlic Naan bread was phenomenal; particularly when paired with the fermented chili butter. The snapper was also excellent. The only downside to the experience was getting to the venue (Saturday night MoPac to east sixth street to parking garage! However, we will plan a better route next time.

The restaurant is really cute- bohemian vibe. Our server, Marcus, was a little ray of sunshine. He was so sweet and so helpful! Here were our favorite things about Vixen’s Wedding…1) Marcus2) that damn naan with the fermented chili butter. Crazy good.3) the cauliflower. What!?!? Who knew my husband would eat cauliflower? Delicious!!4) the red snapper was very good, but we wouldn’t order again. I think I’d try the chicken that Marcus was also pointing out.

I celebrated my birthday at Vixen's Wedding. My girlfriend took me. We had the tasting menu. The waiting staff was very friendly. The ambience was unique and very nice, but not overly formal. Most notably: I have some extensive allergies; the chef went out of his way to make me a dessert from scratch (which was not on ANY of the menus, mind you) and it was both very unique and delicious. Great birthday experience.

Ambiance and service were both fine, but if you are vegetarian, you will be sorely disappointed in the food. I got the beet dish which was one of a couple vegetarian options, and it was basically inedible. The food lacked flavor, or more so lacked a good flavor, and the texture was also off. Overall, the food truly ruined the experience and the ambiance, service, and drinks couldn’t make up for how lackluster the culinary experience was.Vegetarian options: Unfortunately, truly inedible.

Food and experience was great. Service stood out as exceptionally great. Marcus in particular, killed it the entire night. Helped a very large group of ours. Manager of the location came out and spoke with us, entire staff helping was respectful and made the experience that much better.

Not sure about the tepid or negative review but my experience was AHMAZING. The hostess (didn't get her name) was accommodating and pleasant. Our server, Hunter, was the bomb and was neither neglectful nor annoying. Perfect balance of care. And THE FOOD. We ate light, but both the cauliflower and snapper were delish. And the Naan is straight FIRE. Pun no pun. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal, so much we were second from last to leave. They didn't bother us about leaving either. Going back today i was just there last night.

Did the chef’s tasting and they were very accommodating since I didn’t eat seafood. Service was extremely friendly but didn’t like how the whole experience took over 2.5 hrs. Food took soooo long to come out that we were late to our other plans.Food:-The naan was probably the best I’ve ever had. The fermented chili butter was insane.Everything else was excellent and v interesting for the palette.-The lamb was extremely disappointing and dry (pic shown), so much that we couldn’t eat it but we did take it home for our pooch.

With their new chef as of March 2023 - this place has taken a turn for the best. Absolutely incredible service and even better food served at the proper temperatures, priced appropriately, and flavors perfectly unique and complex without over doing it. Also, great wine selection. Would absolutely come back and recommend. A true Austin Gym amongst a lot of mediocre restaurants in this same category of dining
