When it was time To payvthe waitress said its by donation because every christmas And thanksgiving they make holiday meals For people travelling, i have To say it was one of The best meals ive had, all home made And full if flavor And The portion sizecwas HUGE. Thank you For doing what you do we will definitely be stopping In if we come back through, god bless yous And i hope you have a wonderful christmas

This place was awesome. You get out of it what you want. If you go in without a chip on your shoulder looking for new friends in a local, dive bar type of place, then you are in for a great time! The Chicken Fried Steak and Hamburger Steak dinners we ordered were among the best we’ve ever had - even if we were served on paper plates! This is Angie’s establishment, and she loves her locals and friendly visitors… but if you are a jerk, be prepared to go hungry! Keep in mind - this is Oil country - this is where workers and truckers come in after a long day… if cussing and country music and good ol’ America offend you, best keep rolling. If that sounds like a great time, go in and enjoy!

I called when i was a couple hours out still to see how late they would be open. Woman on the phone said “until I’m tired”. I loved that immediately. I called again when i was about 8 miles out and ordered the chicken fried steak to go with Mac and cheese and cabbage. All the food was excellent but the cabbage was out of this world good. It’s hard to get a good meal this late at night as a trucker and i really appreciate it. Thank you!

Stopped at the RV park on our way to San Antonio. Went into the saloon not sure if it was open and it was. Had the time of our life! You either love it or hate it. My wife and I had so much fun we decided to go a few hundred miles out of our way going back home to Nevada just to stop in again. Believe it or not, had more fun the second time. Food was great and friends we made even better. We love old dive bars! that's our hobby and this place was perfect! We went in again the next trip and plan on making it an annual stop. Thanks for being so friendly!

We met family at the little RV park out back of the restaurant. My family drove 11 1/2 hours while my Aunt and Uncle drove from Colorado to Santa Fe and then from there to Balmorhea. Carlsbad was horrible traffic. Needless to say, everyone was exhausted and needed cocktails and dinner. We walked over and the restaurant side was closed but the bar side was open. They were serving food so we grabbed a table. The staff were so friendly and the owner Angie was so attentive and truly talked with us. We ordered the jalapeño poppers, a dip with a medley of stuff that was amazing, and onion rings. All were amazing! Then we ordered 2 burgers with fries and onion rings, 2 orders of the very fresh Chile verde and the Hot Chicken. All were very good! The smoking was mild and everyone including the patrons were very friendly. Didn’t have the steak but hoping before we go. Great place to unwind and relax!!
