Location and atmosphere were great. Waitress was very nice but this is the worst Mexican food experience ever. I think the food came from the frozen isle at Walmart- or from a can. Salsa was cold and runny, chips were cold and stale. They didn’t offer margaritas on the rocks, only frozen. Mine was all ice, and I “drank” it with a fork. My husbands was completely different- a unauthentic green color and barely frozen and very very sweet. We still had a good time but were making jokes about who would be running to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Jokes were on us as we both were. Didn’t seem so funny anymore after that.

Always stop here when passing by on I 10. Service is friendly. Plenty of seating. Food is like homemade. Salsa and chips need some help though.

Fantastic lunch to be had here! Just travelling down I10 and thought we'd make a small detour. Definitely great food, kind service and at the time of day (1500h) it was quiet.
Food for two, with a drink and shared desert was $50 + tip. Certainly worth the time out of your way!

A charming Mexican restaurant, which is surprisingly spacious inside. On this Tuesday afternoon, we noticed several local patrons dining there, which gave us confidence in the establishment. The salsa and chips were plentiful and flavorful. The tacos, enchiladas, tamales, rice, and beans were all delicious.

We found this cute little restaurant while visiting Balmorhea State Park. Loved the Dia de Los Muertos decorations. We were greeted by the cutest little twin girls who helped mom serve us. The food was also really good. I ordered the iced tea and a beef taco plate. Everything had a good flavor, including the beans and rice.

Love this place in little Balmorhea. Charming atmosphere. Best tamale with balance between masa and shredded beef stuffing. Homemade salsa was yummy with great chips. Refried beans flavorful. Ice tea COLD and brewed right.
Two guests pictured were dressed seasonably well but stiff and hard to talk with. 😀
