I love to travel. Finding new places to eat is a big part of traveling for me. I particularly enjoy finding out of the way restaurants to try. Bastrop Texas is a very nice town kind of off the beaten path but real Texas. My traveling buddy and I decided to try Maxine's for a quick breakfast stop and we were not disappointed. The food was well made and oh so tasty. I had grits pork chop and scramble eggs. And they had gluten free toast. The coffee was excellent- I drink decaf and it was robust and really flavorful without bitterness.

We had breakfast here while we were visiting the area. The homestyle food was good, the scratch made biscuit was huge and good. We'll come back again when we are in the area next time.
