Stem & Stone - Kitchen and Bar

Where the service was great and the place was nice, the food was really not good. We were here on a conference and walked in at 7pm to an entirely empty restaurant. Based off the reviews we thought this was a busy popular place, that was not the case. We had a party of 8 and honestly none of us enjoyed much of the food. We had a wonderful server, the drinks were fine, the food was bland and had an off taste to almost everything.

Great local eatery, we'll be back. I gave 5 stars because the overall experience was great but the burgers were not cooked medium as advertised and for $16 plus extra for bacon it should be perfect.

We had high hopes of a great meal after seeing many great reviews. However, the hamburger we shared was a small step above a fast food burger, fries were great, salad was average.

Great little place! Happy to have stumbled upon it while driving around. Great food and friendly staff!

First time experience for us both… Food was fresh and delicious. Caprese starter, Greek Salad, and Buffalo Chicken Sandwich are really good! Service was amazing. Will go back again and highly recommend for a light and healthy meal.

my brother and I went in there and had a great time with our server she recommended the Roethlisberger, and it was awesome if you like sauteed mushrooms and onions. You definitely got to give a shot

Nice little stop on the way to Austin. Stopped on a whim and were surprised at the charm of this restaurant. We ordered the meat plate and split a pesto chicken sandwich. Both were tasty and filling!

Kid-friendliness: Other patrons had children with them and although I didn't see a kids' menu, many of the options on the menu were things a kid may enjoy.

You're better than this S&S.Really, this is a $16.00 burger (ordered with extra cheese)?? The meat patty isnt even a quarter of an actual inch. Look at the wilted lettuce they put on it. Wow, I thought you liked serving the people of Bastrop. For something twice as fresh and twice the burger try literally any place but here.I ordered pickup and called when I got there, they said they just finished the order. Then I waited 5 minutes in the parking lot and decided to go inside, yep - order was just sitting behind the bar. What's happened to this place?
