Casa Chapala Reviews
We stumbled upon this Mexican restaurant on the way home from the airport. It is very good and most every time we've had excellent service. We will drive an hour from college Station to eat there.
We had a good experience. I selected Casa Chapala because I could make a reservation in the event that it was a busy day. I was meeting two of my children who came from Austin (and we from Houston). The table-side salsa was great, a unique treat we particularly enjoyed. We all liked the food. I don't remember anything that was a standout (besides the salsa) but a good Mexican meal we all enjoyed.
Como siempre que los visito!! Quede encantada y mi familia que vino desde Nuevo Laredo Tamaulipas se fueron fascinados con tan hermoso lugar!! Mi restaurante favorito Casa Chapala!! Siiiii!!

Casa Chapala is a well-established Mexican restaurant that offers a pleasant dining experience. The menu features a variety of traditional Mexican dishes, including a weekday taco bar with all-you-can-eat options. Portion sizes are generous, and prices are reasonable. The restaurant is spacious and lavishly decorated, with a balcony on the second floor that enhances the ambiance. The Margaritas are skillfully prepared, and the service is attentive, with professional waiters and waitresses.
The restaurant has received positive reviews, with customers praising the steak nachos, which are described as "sooo good" with a "huge portion and each chip has everything on it." The chips and salsa are also highly recommended, with the spicy salsa being the "best part of the whole meal."
While the food quality may have declined slightly over time, the restaurant remains a reliable option for casual Mexican cuisine in Bastrop County. The Camarones Zarandiados (shrimp in a chipotle cream sauce) and the Caldo Siete Mares (seafood mix in a chipotle broth) have been well-received, though some customers have found the dishes to be a bit too spicy for their taste. The table-side customized salsa and the hand-smashed guacamole have also been praised as highlights of the dining experience.
Overall, Casa Chapala is a solid choice for those seeking authentic Mexican flavors in a comfortable setting, with the potential to become an even more enjoyable experience with some acoustic upgrades to address the noise level.
