Check out our list of the best Mexican restaurants in Bastrop.
“Since moving to Austin this is our #1 Mexican restaurant they are always consistent with the food the seasoning, sauce and of course friendly faces. Tonight we ordered the carne asada papas it was absolutely mouth watering and HUGE portion. I thought I missed Roberto's from Las Vegas after tonight's dinner "who's Roberto's". LolCarnitas quesadillas the hubby can eat this everyday he said it was juicy, cooked to perfection and enough for 2 peopleThis is my go to when we want Mexican food done right“
“Front start to finish, this place raises the bar. Chips are brought to your table and salsa is handmade tableside. Refried beans are also brought out. They are full of flavor. Got the steak fajitas for 1 and there was enough food to feed at least 2 and served sizzling hot.Service was good and attentive. Everyone was really friendly. We.will definitely be back....“
“They have a lot of options on the menu. On Sundays they also have a local Mexican/American homestyle breakfast buffet. Part of the buffet menu rotates, but they usually have scrambled eggs, migas, hash browns, chicharrones en salsa verde, refried beans, nopalitos, biscuits & gravy, sausage patty, sausage link, bacon, oatmeal, fruit (peaches, grapes). Most importantly: infinite menudo. Not pictured are the made-to-order options that are part of the buffet: french toast, pancake, or they can warm up toast or tortillas. Ask when you order the buffet. The restaurant itself is on the rustic, smaller side: seats 50 max (probably less per fire code). There is additional parking next door by Clint's Liquors (the parking lots are connected by a small wooden foot bridge). Feels like a local diner, so if you are looking for something upscale or trendy look elsewhere. I don't want the place to be crowded anyway. Service is friendly. Good food at a good price!“
“Looking for great Mexican drinks and lunch items? This place is absolutely it. Good food and large portions that really make you feel like you're getting the most out of your money, and it's not even expensive. Good sitting areas, clean lobby, fast service. Definitely a place that bastrop was in dire need of. Can't wait to come back.“
“So far I've tried the pastor tacos. I tried them with the flour and corn both excellent. I think both are very good however I think my favorite is the corn tortilla. The grilled onions and jalapeno that they put on the side are an added flavor to them. I also tried all the salsas with them and there isn't a wrong choice to add. I highly recommend this spot.“
“Delicious food and awesome service!! ? the tortillas are hand made and the food tastes great, we had some crispy flautas, birria plate and asada tacos. It was a good amount of food and we enjoyed every bit of it! We’ll definitely come back ?“
“Best beef burrito in Bastrop (and I believe I have tried them all). One reason it tastes so good is they put fresh pico, which most places around here put lettuce and tomatoes (which gets soggy). Chicken enchiladas are excellent too! Highly recommend ?They need to advertise and put a sign out front of Chevron.“
“Weary of the upscale, high dollar Mexican restaurants in Austin that have largely replaced the beloved TexMex standbys of years past, we drove to Bastrop on a hunt for the TexMex comfort food we craved. At El Corral Lozano, we found it! Yum! ¡La comida es muy muy rica! Everything from the chips and salsa, the cheese enchilada plate, and the fresh hot corn tortillas to the chile relleno, chicken flautas, Mexican Coke, and horchata were delicious. Our server, Lorna, was terrific, too. We will be back! Thank you for being exactly what we were looking for!Kid-friendliness: Kids welcome“
“Glad we stopped here! We had cecina, al pastor, and alambre tacos (they were out of beef fajita and lengua at the time). All were delicious, especially the cecina! And friendly service. We’ll be sure to stop here again and try more things.“
“Excellent Venezuelan food! Everything has been so tasty that I just want more even though I’m completely stuffed. We tried the Beef Cachapa and the Chicken Arepas. Both were super tasty and the three different sauces we had were excellent. The owners are very kind as well. Definitely worth a stop!“
“This is my favorite taco truck around! I used to go into Austin (which lets get real is crazy) for tacos. I haven’t been to Austin for any since they opened here! It’s always absolutely delicious! I definitely recommend the gator tacos if you’re up for something different. The tried and true tacos are amazing if you’re not up for something different.“
“A very capable Tex-Mex restaurant. Very attentive service. A bit overwhelming on the menu. The reason for the lack of a fifth star was their Top Shelf margarita. I appreciate the real lime juice but it was too much. I didn’t taste any kind of Contreau or other balancing liquor. It really puckered my lips!Otherwise, the food was just what we would expect.I also don’t like the fact that they charge more if you use a credit card. Shame on them!“
“I love this location always good food and served hot ! The salsa and queso are on point delicious! Me and my husband enjoy this location service is amazing they are always nice to us ! Thank you all so much these guys deserve and work hard for their money and should always be tipped and treated well !“
“I have eaten at this place several times over the years and am always impressed. The atmosphere of the place is what I like to see at Mexican food establishments, the service has always been well above average, and I have tried many different dishes and have never been disappointed. The beef fajita enchiladas are my go to dish and they are great. I usually judge a Mexican food restaraunt by their chips and sauce and this one hits the mark.“
