“Kind of a middle of the road Mexican restaurant in terms of food quality/taste. You can definitely do far worse but their quality has seemed to decline over the past year or so. The restaurant itself is big and lavish. Their weekday taco bar is not bad but, like everything, increased in price from 11.99 to 15.99 for all you can eat tacos, enchiladas and a few other common Mexican/tex-mex dishes. They did, however, get rid of the beef fajitas in the taco bar and only have chicken fajitas which is disappointing but I would imagine cost is the reason. Side note, I mainly went to the taco bar for the all you can eat beef fajitas ?. The servers aren't bad but not especially good either. They tend to be somewhat robotic. Overall, we like casa chapala 2-3x/year as it's nothing too special in a sea of LOTS of Mexican food here in Bastrop County.
Parking: The lot is small and shared by a few businesses so, when busy, can be hard to find a spot.“

“Awesome place to eat and stay. if you are a TCM fan then staying here is also recommended. the food was delicious, the staff was super friendly. Better bring your wallet because you will want to buy everything you see! lots of goodies for the horror fans. I will definitely be back!!“

“Omg, this place was amazing! From sit down to food to the table was roughly 12 mins. We got the ribeye Mexicana (med rare) and camerones de la parrilla. Both were great! Staff was very attentive, had several people check on us multiple times! 10/10“

“One of the BEST food spots in town!! We’ve loved Maxine’s for years. The food is unmatched- we are never disappointed with the quality and taste. However, the service has gone downhill over the past month or two. Our favorite waitress, Macy, no longer works here and we have seen the difference. We came in once and got no acknowledgment at all, so we left. The second time was a bit better, but the lady who gets the drink orders is very short and rude. I really hope the service improves because this is one of our favorite restaurants!!!“

“I ran in to order tonight right before they closed and even though they were cleaning up and wrapping up for the day and Sasha and Jessie were so welcoming and didn’t hesitate to greet me happily and make my pizza with positive attitudes. You don’t find that at many places anymore especially for last minute orders . Thank you so much Sasha and Jessie! You are awesome!“

“Originally, we wanted pizza but when we got to Bassono, the smell of the Italian food caused us to change our minds.We had veal parmesan, canneloni and the chicken with a spicy sauce.Portion size is large, food was prepared well and the rolls are delicious“
