This was a planned stop on a road trip where we were hoping for a taproom environment. What it seems like this is is a restaurant with a small beer focus, but nothing to write home about. We had a soft pretzel, which had a tasty mustard with it and beer cheese dip, but the pretzel was really just a baked bread. No true pretzel crust. Then had some Reuben rolls, which were a take on mixing a reuben sandwich with egg rolls. Neat idea and tasty. I'd definitely recommend those for a small snack. The beer was average, but honestly would've been above average with a little bit of actual service and conversation. The bar tender did her best to ignore us, service was extremely slow with 30+ minutes between her checking on us. She would disappear for long periods of time and barely said two words to us and showed no interest in getting us to order more. When we sit at a bar at a craft beer brewery, what we're looking for is good beers and good conversion. We got okay beer and zero conversion and they weren't busy. Just disinterested. If you're driving through the hill country looking for a craft beer experience, save your time and money and find a true taproom where the beer is front and center and the bar tenders are anxious to talk to you about it. There were a couple of others working behind the bar who equally ignored us, as if we hadn't been there for an hour and a half and no only even asked if we wanted another round.

My grandson and I stopped at the 602 brewing company. Just expected to get a burger and fries once we're in that we've seen they had a chicken fried chicken I have the mashed potatoes with mine and my grandson had fries with his it also included a bowl of soup. Lentil soup which was totally delicious. The staff for totally caring and courteous seated us immediately brought us our menus after we ordered our food the chicken fried chicken came back to the table bigger than my hand almost twice the size of my hand and one of the best I've ever had the ground submitted, they must have Gordon Ramsay cooking in the back cuz this is delicious i recommend 602 brewing company 10 out of 10 10 out of 10 for the food and 10 out of 10 for the atmosphere don't miss out go check it out

Great beer, great food, cool spot. Stop in and check it out, you'll be happy you did.
602 Brewing has a friendly staff, good food, interesting beer options and live music (at least at the time I visited). Definitely seems like a fun local spot to hang out. I enjoyed my time here. I definitely recommend.

Let me start by saying the habanero margarita was great! Kuddos to the bartender. The food, however, was not as good, I had the chicken fried steak which was chewy but okay. The cheddar mashed potatoes were cold, I even ordered additional gravy to warm up the potatoes. The gravy was hot but tasteless. Great place to get a drink though.

I took my aunt here for lunch on 11/5. The food was bordering on bad! I had the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and a house salad. She had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans. NOTHING was seasoned, no salt, no peper, nothing. If it weren't for the green chili gravy, there wouldn't have been any taste to it. Unfortunately, the gravy was made with old or burnt grease and tasted bad. Green chili from a Texas point of view would hint that there's some taste and some heat. Here, it's just for looks. And to add to it, the potatoes were stone cold. The service wasn't bad, but the food was.

Everytime we go to Bastrop, we try a local restaurant that we haven’t before, but man o man, we were surprised we hadn’t tried 602. First of all, all the food we ordered was full of flavor and hot. Their beers are great too. I couldn’t stop drinking their peach Hefeweizen. They really do care and try to bring the community together. Even met the owner and his daughter, which were both lovely. Shout out Heather Blue (the bartender), whom was nice, attentive and a rockstar. Will definitely visit again to try more of their menu.

Great brewery in such an awesome little town. The burger was excellent and the service was wonderful. We had the Feelin Peachy Wheat and Huells Big Money IPA. Both were delicious and the perfect reward for a day hiking at nearby Bastrop State Park.

On the patio listening to Kirk Smith and the range between Chris Isaak and echo and the bunnymen was only surpassed by the hummus that was in front of me

We were in town from Austin and we stopped in starving for dinner and desperate to find a place that would be friendly and accommodating towards my brother who has cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair. 602 sat us right away at a table my brother could have his wheelchair at too. Natalie was our server and she provided the BEST experience for us! She was so helpful and accommodating and kind. She was kind to my brother and made sure he had everything he needed. The food was great too!
