We stopped here on our way back home in Austin from the Shiner brewery. It was a nice find. I enjoyed a delicious caramel latte served in a big French cafe au lait breakfast mug and an enormous hot while cinnamon roll covered with butter sauce while my wife had an iced tea and a large pumpkin bread scone also covered in a hot butter sauce.
Our drinks and cakes were delicious. Our afternoon repast cost a very reasonable $22.21.

Rest in Peace, sweet princess.
Tough Cookie has been my rock on weekends for great food and drink and an amazing hangout and social hub for all ages.
Great staff, my kinds of folks, and the owners have made any space they operate in feel like mom's kitchen. Such a warm and loving space.
They will be missed.

Great stop to stretch your legs, get coffee and a bite to eat while traveling. Stopped by on our way home and enjoyed an iced shaken espresso and ice cream. Will be back next time we come through! Definitely family friendly too.

Stopped in for some coffee and a sweet treat. The hot latte with house made lavender syrup was really good. And the chocolate chip cookie hit the spot. They also have ice cream and other treats.

I need to eat gluten free and their baked gluten free options are delicious! However, the rest of the options are not as flavorful. I had a gluten free quiche that was very lacking in flavor. I was also disappointed in their chai latte. Chai should be full of spice, but this was lacking. I'll continue to buy gluten free baked goods from here, but that will be the extent of my visits. I also had water with my meal and had to ask staff to refill the self serving water dispenser.

Atmosphere is amazing and the staff if very friendly. Wish there was more comfortable seating, but the place is decorated very nicely and there’s a good amount of space between tables.

Really good! I stopped in here and the lady at the counter made a great recommendation of the ice cream cookie dough sandwich. Love the space with the piano. Fun and old timey.

My wife and I got a strawberry lemon bar, a raspberry oatmeal bar, and a strawberry matcha latte. None of them were very good to be honest, but the staff was super friendly and helpful and the store has an old fashioned charm to it. The cookies, ice cream, and coffee all looked really good, so if we go back that is what I will get. It seems like they normally have old fashioned root beer that is made from a syrup mix, but their machine was broken when we visited. Something else to try next time!

I got a mushroom Philly that altogether tasted pretty good, but I do want more out of a $15 sandwich. Happy to support these folks as probably the only place in town with vegan options. Wonderfully helpful people behind the counter, and I appreciate what they’re doing.
The history and charm of this shop immediately caught our attention and drew us in. The original furniture pieces add such a warm and nostalgic touch to the overall aesthetic, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier.
The only letdown was finding out that the ice cream isn’t homemade or unique to the shop—it’s just Blue Bell. Now, as a lifelong Blue Bell fan, I’ll never turn it down, but with a place that has so much originality and character, we were hoping for a menu that reflected that same spirit.
Still, it’s a cute spot and worth a visit for the atmosphere alone.

An update photo should be added since their cafe moved to Main St. We had a very pleasant lunch with many items avail vegetarian and non veg. Gluten free options. I had the chickpea salad and it was exceptional. It's counter service and find a spot in their nostalgic dining space. One day, I'll try the cookies and ice cream counter.
