Tortilleria y Taqueria de la Cruz is a popular spot for delicious Mexican food. Despite being crowded and having limited parking and wheelchair accessibility, the restaurant serves excellent food that brings nostalgia to those familiar with Mexican cuisine. The tortillas, although not handmade according to some, are still considered better than store-bought ones. Must-try dishes include quesabiria, taco de asado, carne de trompo, pirata, and torta de trompo, all made with fresh and amazing corn tortillas. The chicken is a standout, and the delivery service is reliable, making it a top recommendation for Mexican food lovers. Customers appreciate the attentive service, often highlighting the quality of the carne de trompo and carnitas, which come served with salsa, onion, and cilantro. Many express that the tacos are among the best they have ever had. The restaurant also accommodates dietary needs, such as removing black pepper for those with allergies.
Recently, families have enjoyed a vast variety of food options like menudo, tamales, fajita, and barbacoa, noting that everything tasted delicious. While some reviewers mentioned that tamales and Taco birria could improve, they praised the other tacos as the best. The service remains great, even during closing hours, and customers appreciate the reasonable prices and cleanliness of the restaurant. Many recommend dining in for lunch, highlighting the restaurant's commitment to meeting customer needs and providing a satisfying dining experience. However, some long-time customers have raised concerns about inconsistencies in their orders, urging the restaurant to maintain quality.
