1836 Café Reviews
We eat here or get takeout at least once a week, whether it’s breakfast, burgers or treats it’s all fantastic. The buns for the sandwiches are awesome, haven’t had anything from here that wasn’t fantastic. Highly recommend, mom and pop place that you should definitely support…
If you like super salty foods then go for it. I couldn’t eat hardly any of it. Biscuit and coffee was good though. Sweets looked divine but this is a no return for me. Too bad food looked sooo good too. Just over salted and I do like salt.
Fantastic anniversary breakfast there, our first time in. Great food and super friendly owners and staff! We'll be back!!

The 1836 Café offers a delightful dining experience with delicious and flavorful dishes. Standout menu items include the biscuits and gravy, homemade fries, Big Tex burritos, and not-to-be-missed cinnamon rolls. The staff is friendly, attentive, and dedicated to providing excellent service. Although the interior can be a bit warm, the fresh, made-to-order food makes a return visit worthwhile. The café is known for its great portions and tasty bread, especially in their burgers like the Sam Houston, which has received high praise for its amazing bun and perfectly dressed, juicy meat. The jalapeno biscuits and crunchy bacon are popular favorites, and customers appreciate the friendly atmosphere and ample parking. Many visitors enjoy trying breakfast, brunch, or lunch here, especially the outrageous cinnamon rolls and cool coffee mugs that add to the charm. Recent reviews highlight the delicious spinach salad with grilled chicken, featuring a flavor explosion of pecans, goat cheese, strawberries, and balsamic. The coconut pie is noted for being just right, and the café has been described as a must-stop destination. With a welcoming environment and consistently good food, 1836 Café is a highly recommended spot for breakfast or lunch.
