“Made the trip via Blessing just to lunch at the coffee shop. We waited a couple minutes to see a worker, then other guests clues us what to do. Then the cashier appeared to guide us and take our money. It was $15 each for the weekend lunch.
.
The arrangement is a buffet. You get your plate at the cashier, then work through the buffet. There is salad, hot dishes, drinks (water and tea are included), breads, and cobbler. You can make multiple trips, but need to use a fresh plate for each trip.
.
I got liver and onions, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, and--of course--kernal corn. Expect home-style cooking, you won't be disappointed.
.
The liver and onions were fantastic. The kernal corn was sweet. The mashed potatoes had lots of lumps, which I like. The star was the fried chicken.
.
The breading was flavorful and ultra crisp. The meat was juicy and perfectly cooked. It was a nice big breast, with plenty to enjoy. Even so, I went back for a second breast. I picked the largest, which was on the bottom and subject to continued cooking for that reason (the pans are kept on a stove top); it was overcooked for that reason. If you stick to the freshest and are not a glutton, you won't have better fried chicken.
.
I came away stuffed to the gills. We'll be back.”

“What a neat thing this place is! I love the history of it and that they're keeping it alive. Very friendly atmosphere. My dad took me and 2 of my daughters here for lunch for my first time. He's been going there off and on for 30 years. What a lovely experience it was. I love historic adventures like this! ❤️”

“Well worth the drive! Friendly staff and scratch made food. Thank you!”
“The folks in there are down home plain talk straight shooters, that are just enjoying a drama free, music and dance, wrapped in history within the walls kind of night”
“I stopped in to see what it was all about and get some beer on my way to the coast. It was a friendly and happy crowd watching football. I would have hung out if my dogs weren't in the car.”

“if you are around Blessing during lunch, Elmer's food truck is the place to stop. We tried the papusas and they were amazing and made fresh to order. even my very picky children ate every bite off their plates. Their breakfast tacos are also delicious and made with huge homemade tortillas. The prices are very reasonable (you do need cash though).”
