Praise the Lord and Bless the cook at the Blessing Hotel! It’s pure-D homestyle cooking, take all you want but eat all you take. Expect to sit at a larger table visiting with local folks, sheriffs deputies, and a few rambling souls. Good food is the great equalizer.Numerous veggies and 2-3 mains, kept warm on antique but very functional stoves (photo below) plus tea and dessert for $14!The experience alone is worth twice that and the food is slap yo mama good!Little bite of Heaven along the Texas Gulf Coast.Vegetarian options: Although veggies may have bacon or other meats in themKid-friendliness: Couple of hi-chairs, but parents gotta serve at hot stovesWheelchair accessibility: Ramps, large restrooms

Awful Thanksgiving meal, just awful. Ran out of turkey and offered dried out fried chicken. Hotel was interesting historically. I won't be back.

Hidden gem! ?My husband brought me here to fatten me up! Or at least it felt that way. Ms. Helen is an amazing cook and reminds me of why food is better cook in cast iron. Best cabbage I've ever had, great fried chicken, and amazing preach cobbler. We took a 40 minute detour just to eat there. It was a rainy Sunday for the lunch buffet and it was still packed with people. Ms. Helen is at the cashier greeting and remember to bring cash!
If you are in the area, it is a great stop for some good home cooking. It's all you care to eat buffet style. We stopped on a Sunday and the price was $16.00 per person. The quality and selection of food was very good. On Sunday they serve turkey, ham and roast beef with all the fixings. Salads and dessert are also included.
