Absolutely ethereal experience, the food was tender and tasted fresh, the place was quiet despite the guests and the service was nice. My first time eating there and wondered what type of meats there were, the guy serving me didn’t hesitate to explain what there was. Absolutely beautiful, 10/10 love the brisket.

Bought the jalapeño cheese sausage kolache. the entire underside felt raw (wet, stretchy dough with weird yeasty funky taste), and the sausage itself had a bit of a weird flavor even once we wiped all the underside off. Strange taste stayed on my tongue an hour
Honestly a little concerned of getting sick from this since i ate an entire one since I was so hungry. Threw the rest away though.
Included pictures of one of the better kolaches.
Go to hruskas or weikels.

Acceptable road-side bbq. The ribs and brisket were ok, sides a bit lacking. Not worth a special trip, but if you are going by, a stop for some bbq and pie is never a bad decision if you are hungry.

It’s been some years since I’ve been to this area and this wonderful restaurant and bakery brought back happy memories. The chopped beef BBQ sandwich with a side of mustard potato salad was superb. My granddaughter’s child’s plate with potatoes and macaroni and cheese was such a big portion that PawPaw “had to” help finish it! My son, a vegetarian enjoyed a grilled cheese and macaroni and cheese. Unfortunately, we didn’t have room for dessert but the traditional fruit kolaches and pies looked amazing. If you’re traveling to the Blue Bell Creamery in Brenham, I strongly recommend you stop here for a meal.

Best food my family has experienced recently and the customer service was excellent. Extra props for the Texas toast, steak and Mac n Cheese.
Edit: it’s been two days and I’m still eating my leftovers. They taste just as great as day one. Best steak I had in Texas.

Great blueberry cinnamon rolls! The chocolate cake is not tasty, too much cake very little frosting.

Best chicken fried steak that I have ever had; best loaded baked potato, and delicious salad. We are on our way to Galveston, and will stop here every time we travel this way. The staff people were so nice and so polite. I love this place. They also have pies and kolaches.

OMG. So glad we stopped in. Their jalapeno sausage cheese kolaches, fruit kolaches, cinnamon rolls, and blueberry rolls are soft, delicious, and simply comforting.
Bakery display needs cleaning and flies removed, BBQ was average & cookies come from a big box store
