El Gallo Fino Fried Chicken

Tried for the first time and unfortunately everything is made to order so chicken took 20 mins to cook and had to wait another 10 to eat because it was hot, normally thats a good thing but if you are limited on time that is not good..food was good because it had a different taste and of course it was fresh. Prices are reasonable. The entrance was a little hard to find because its tucked in the corner of the plaza.

Came in as a 1st time. Gentleman Noe was very nice and took the time to explain the whole menu and recommendations. Food is made fresh. Fries are hand cut and made fresh as well. Something different here is they give a sauce/salsa with corn tortillas to eat with the meal and it give an awesome/different way to eat your chicken, but sooooo GOOD! Very well served. They also have wings specials for NFL games 20 pc jumbo wings with 1lb of freshly cut fries. Place is very clean and kept up with. You can also call ahead so by the time you get there it will be ready. 10/10 recommend 👌

I ordered the chicken strips and macaroni. This is the worst food I have ever had in my life and this is not an exaggeration. I don’t write reviews but I needed to for this one. I’m not a picky person and I enjoy trying new places and food. The coating on the chicken was soggy on the bottom but also too hard and stretchy. The chicken itself was dry and had the texture of rubber. The coating didn’t even stick to the chicken, it would just slide right off. The macaroni was extremely bland. Tasted like just cooked pasta noodles and that’s it. Don’t be fooled by the pictures of the seasoned food. It looks like it has seasoning but everything tastes BLAND. I went with two other people who ordered different things and they had the exact same experience; bland food with a weird texture. Don’t waste your money here. Please go literally anywhere else. Also, the place smelled like old dirty mop water. I could smell it even from the outside of the doors.

This man knows how to fry chicken. Service is amazing. They are very friendly. Very small buy good drink selection. I'm slowly working my way around the menu. So far bone in is number one first try you have to make. The breast are as big as my hand so definitely go with 2pc or 3pc mixed. Fries are fresh cut, tell him you want them crispy! Wings are dang good! Spicy garlic was perfect. This man is proud of his cooking and you can taste it. I'm a southern boy so mashed potatoes without gravy... I'll try them next time. And not a gripe but as a southern boy I need tea with my fried chicken but... that Joya.. Aldo don't sleep on the street corn. Like others have said, call ahead because this man demands quality so there is no precooked waiting on you, it's fresh! Skip canes and give this man some respect!

Great service ; food was awesome & very fresh. You can legit taste the home made fresh products from scratch. I enjoy supporting small local businesses & this one was a great example. Today I tried their fried chicken. But I will gladly be back to try out their jumbo wings as well. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

👍When I first walked in, I was a bit concerned because there was an unpleasant smell—not the delicious aroma of fried chicken I was expecting.
However, the food turned out to be surprisingly good. The chicken was very juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Dipping it in the white ranch-style sauce gave it a unique and interesting flavor.

The chicken was very flavorful. We ordered the 12 piece with macncheese, beans, and fries. Very delicious! The owner is very nice, too. I highly recommend.

Bestest chicken! Hard to find, but keep looking. Person told us that many people call from parking lot. It took us three attempts to find. Crunchy, moist, and juicy. Sides were good, we got the street corn and Mac and cheese. Just found our Go to for fried chicken. Cooked to order, so call ahead if in a hurry.

Wow......was not expecting to find 💥fried chicken in Brownsville, TX. But this was some of the best fried chicken I've had. Cooked to perfection. Every piece was the perfect crisp and juicy ...even the breast. Hands down you probably won't find better chicken then this around anytime soon. Well done. Family owned , local family, awesome people. Flying out tomorrow , and will be back in a month and this place will be a definite revisit. 🔥🔥🔥

Tip: little hard to locate ...it's in between a therapy place and a daycare. But Worth the find. 😊

Amazing food ! I was speechless the chicken was amazing..life changing almost. I am a very picky eater and i absolutely loved it as well as my family.. Definitely will come back and highly recommend

I usually don't post. But this little hole in the wall has the best chicken I ever had in Brownsville. Call ahead 15 to 20 minutes if you don't want to wait chicken is made fresh. Customer Service is great. The cook came out and asked for some feedback and gave me suggestions for our next visit.
The chicken was crunchy and juicy
Mac n cheese was good
Fries are home fries, I would order the extra crunchy next time.
Definitely recommend 👌
