Closed, Im very, very sad to say. This great restaurant has served Brownwood for more than 50 years but just cant keep it together with the new generation of family owners. Its a huge loss for all of us who loved Gomez's.

I grew up eating at this restaurant at least twice a week during the 70's and 80's. Always had great food and service. Recently we ate lunch there after all these years and sad to say I was disappointed. Not like I remember the food at all. I had such high expectations and I also know that things change over time. So it is what it is. Even though the food wasn't the same, the atmosphere was great!

Food was fair, service was good, the place was fairly clean.

My Friend and I were here on 04/11/2018 and as soon as we sat down, we got waited on by Angela and another young lady that she was training. We had order the Chicken Fajitas!!! It was served on a hot skillet!!! so it was Chicken, bell peppers, onions on the hot plate!!! and than a side plate with rice, beans, salad, sour cream and guacamole with your choice of corn or flour tortillas!!! It was super delicious!!! Our drinks were full at all time!!! Again Angela was our server and she was fantastic!!! Our food was DELICIOUS!!!!

Horrible place. Service was really bad but food was worse. Food for my family came out 15 minutes apart so some family members' food was cold by the time we all got to eat. Food was so bad (raw chicken) that we left without eating but just a few bites. Of course they still made us pay. Will never recommend them again and will never go back. Better off buying my kids a happy meal. Very disappointed!!!!

If You like terrible service. If you like a party of 6 all getting their good in 10 minute intervals and raw chicken and burnt beef fajitas. If you love a plate of grease when you order french fries. This is the place for you. This place now SUCKS.... BAD..... I WOULD RATE IT A -100 THATS NEGATIVE 100 IF POSSIBLE... WORST PLACE I'VE EVER EATEN $60+ for 6 people and didn't even get to eat half of our food.... BTW WHILE WE WERE THERE WE SAW A WAITRESS DROP ALL THE SUGAR PACKETS AND ALL THAT ON THE FLOOR AND PICK IT UP AND OUT IT RIGHT BACK ON THE TABLE.... AND FLOOR IS SO GROSS YOU STICK TO IT.

Eaten at this place for years, but I have just seen my last time. I could have done better than this at home. I ordered chalupas. What I got was a corn tortilla with beans smeared on it. Waitress was rushed and barking at us. Horrible experience. Will not go back.

Where has this place been all my life?!? Simply fantastic food for absolutely cheap prices!! Breakfast Special is- 3 eggs your way, breakfast fries, 4 bacon/sausage, with beans and homemade tortillas (which I suggest!) or 2 pieces Texas toast for ONLY $3.99!! And it is GOOD! Enchiladas for lunch we're equally amazing. My new favorite place to eat in Brownwood! Caution: Spicy salsa! All Day Breakfast! Service was also equally great. How does this place not have better reviews?!?

I've never had anything I didn't like or love!! Well maybe once the chips were stale. ive been going for my gomez "fix" as us locals call it for 50 years now! Besides the fried red tomatoes that we always have to share, The Mexican food is great, the chicken fry wonderful, hamburgers the best in town IMO, and I just had the catfish which is the best kept secret in town! Fabulous! Kiwanis meets there every week for breakfast and pics look amazing... I'll have to try. It would be perfection if they would put sour cream chicken enchiladas on the menu! Our service is always good by the way! The phone number needs updating... 325-600-4309

Worst enchiladas I've ever had. Don't usually post reviews but this place was a s*** hole.

Would not recommend dining here salsa was too sweet food was too bland so bring your own spices staff was nice and courteous atmosphere was boring

Really good food! I had a plate with two cheese enchiladas and one crispy beef taco. It was delicious. Service was kind of slow, but it was very busy and the waitress was sweet. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

What are these people thinking? Those of you who say the service is bad... I agree but the food is even WORSE. We had chili con queso, enchiladas, rellanos and tacos in our group. Tacos were edible. We laughed through most of the meal thinking this must be some kind of joke.

Gomez restaurant is authentic Mexican food. Love the fried tomatoes with cheese melted on them, and the enchilada plate is always a good choice but lately I've been getting the chili relleno plate with double rice. If your not in the mood for Mexican, the also have great fried shrimp and a chicken fried steak.

The last of authentic Mexican restaurants. Put French dressing in your salsa ( called hot sauce in Brownwood ). Bean and guacamole nachos are amazing!!! Since 1956, I grew up with this place.
