Fine dining pricing without the fine dining experience. My wife and I got a babysitter and had a date night with L&M being recommended. Once in the hard to find front door we waited about five minutes before being greeted. We were then sat at a small wobbly table. My wife used the restroom and commented on the odd faucet that was loose and in need of repair. The men's room was just messy. The table next to us had a waiter that obviously knew the customers as he spent most of his time talking loudly to them which was hard to ignore. Food: We both decided on the Wagyu ribeye and strip but when ordering we were then informed that they were out, at which time the waitress brought a tray of steaks to select from. Once we were served our food the rosemary experience began. Rosemary sprig on the steak, rosemary butter, rosemary in the mashed potatoes, rosemary table water for god's sake. So, close to $400 dollars later we took our rosemary leftovers and headed 45 minutes back home. Maybe we caught them on a bad night but for that kind of money we're not taking a chance by returning.

They only do takeout orders if they aren't busy. The food is overall good. Not a fan of the coffee rub on the steaks, too astringent. Their brunch was good but they don't offer it anymore.

We were walking around downtown Brownwood, and stumbled on this place just because the door caught my eye. What a hidden gem. It was a great night.

I was taken there for my birthday, I loved it. My ribeye was perfectly cooked all the sides were delicious. Sadly I can't afford to eat there again .

The most upscale menu in Brown County bar none. What Christian Nance & Co. have done here is phenomenal. I mean, just come by to look at the bar. Really. Things are happening here that aren’t even done in much larger cities. Support local business!

Edit November 2024- they simply cannot commit to hours and days for doing lunch and brunch. Ridiculous you have to check their Facebook page anytime you want to go to make sure they have “staff”. other restaurants in Brownwood have lasted for decades. I doubt its staff issues.

We wanted to like this place but the guy at the end of the bar who almost looks homless ruined it for us. The steaks are good but the professionalism is lacking.
