The only BBQ I’ll eat around town now. I love everything pickled and the pickled onions are one of my fave toppings, the potato salad has that more pickled tasted too, and the actual meat and stuff (I always get the brisket but have tried the other meats) and that’s pretty amazing too.Bo’s done a pretty good job making the outside super cute, providing shade, and always has exceptional customer service.

By far the best BBQ joint in BCS. Don’t waste your time or money going somewhere else! The owner is very friendly and you can tell he works hard and puts his all into this food! And it shows!!! The brisket is phenomenal, I’d also recommend getting a side of potato salad!

I have eaten a lot of bbq. Whether it be at LJ’s and Truth in Brenham, or Franklins in Austin and I can fully admit that this is the best BBQ joint in College Station Area. You can tell that the owner takes pride in his food and it shows. I got the chopped beef sandwich that literally melts in your mouth. No other way to describe it. If you’re looking for good BBQ in CS skip out on CJ’s and come HERE!

This is a gem of a spot if your lucky enough to have found it and get there before he sells out. I love good craft BBQ, and Bo (owner) delivers on BBQ perfection on all levels. Some of the best brisket I've ever tasted, and everything else on the menu from turkey to sides is completely on point. Plus, Bo is very forthcoming on sharing tips and tricks that can help you dial it up on your own grill or pit.

Had the two meat plate today for the first time and it was delicious! Had the brisket, jalapeño cheese sausage, baked beans, and brisket Mac n cheese. Definitely will go back and frequent this establishment.

Best BBQ around college station. We tried a few other places during our short trip to college station. This was far better. I would highly recommend it. The owner is a very nice person too. Had an engaging conversation. Would love to visit again.

I drive by 1976 BBQ almost everyday and finally decided to stop wondering and actually try it out! It’s been my go-to BBQ spot from that day on. My 5yo and I had chopped beef sandwiches together at the picnic tables. They have the perfect lean to fat ratio (more lean) and I ordered a little of everything for dinner that night (try the bacon-wrapped-stuffed chicken thighs!) Every side was delicious especially the potato salad, cream corn, baked beans, and mac … and the sauce is awesome! Everything Bo puts out is delicious. The dinner I bought at lunchtime was just fine reheated for our dinner party. I stop by at lunch and get protein for my salads and it’s perfect! Quit driving by and stop! You’ll have a new favorite BBQ spot!Kid-friendliness: Picnic tables and room to run aroundParking: Easy to park and leave

Delicious BBQ. We got there late but luckily the owner put back some brisket for someone who didn't end up picking it up and he gifted it to us! I'm so grateful he did. Everything was fresh and tasty. The pickles are made from cucumbers grown in the owners garden and he gets the onions for pickling from a neighbor. The sausage and ribs were great, as were the sides. We will definitely be back and will make sure to get there earlier to try all the options.
Great barbecue with a well-earned reputation for quality meat and tasty sides. Reasonably priced and easy to find. The number of 5-star Google reviews convinced me to give 1976 BBQ a try. I'm glad I did!

I was coming from salt lake to college station Texas my tire blew up on the freeway I was having a rough day and chose this place to reward my self a little bit and ordered brisket, ribs and sausage, this place made me forget about all that happened and made my visit a great experience, I love bbq and it was in my bucked list to try real bbq from Texas and this place did not disappoint at all, thank you for making my day better ?

HANDS DOWN BEST BRISKET AND CORN YOU’LL EVER EAT! Best service too!!! Princess for the amount of food you get are better than fair! The quality of this one man show named Bo is phenomenal!!! Imagine the Gods creating a brisket for only for them off the finest meat imaginable…well this is better than that!You don’t need teeth to eat this beef!!! Better get here by 10 to line up and good luck then not being sold out by 2p!The only bad thing about this place is what makes it so special and that is…There’s not more of them!!! If I had one with it would be for World peace beginning with this brisket! I’ve been all around the country for years searching for these Diamond in the roughs and this one has topped all of those and being by far! I could keep talking this place up but you’ll just have to go witness this 8th wonder of the world yourself!!! GOOD LUCK!!! Too brisk to sit at the benches but not too brisk for brisket in the car ?PS…get the home grown pickles and onions and don’t forget some extra homemade sauce!
