Martin's Place Reviews
Outstanding, dependable, great flavor, lotta sides
Best barbecue in Brazos county. Atmosphere is very down home and relaxed. Don't go there in a hurry. There is an air of fine art and craftsmanship there, so you can't hurry it up. When the barbecue is gone, it's gone. Get there early. If you are waiting, check out all the history on the wall or strike up a conversation with a regular. More than likely they are an oldtimer who's been coming there for years.
Wonderful BBQ, Best I have had in a LONG time!! What a Texas treasure!

Martin's Place has been serving up authentic southeast central Texas barbecue for decades. This oldest restaurant in BCS has a rich history of over 100 years and offers delicious brisket and other BBQ favorites in a nostalgic, old diner atmosphere. The entrance might not look like a typical restaurant, and the interior hasn't been updated since the 1970s, which adds to its charm as a hole in the wall in all the best ways. While the amenities may not be modern, the restaurant consistently scores high on health department inspections. With great value pricing that is comparable to other big chains, Martin's Place is a must-visit for barbecue lovers looking for a genuine, no-frills experience. The friendly service enhances the experience, and many customers have noted the amazing food, especially the chopped brisket and the fantastic potatoes. Even with semi-retired hours, this hidden gem remains a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike.
