It’s been a while since we’ve given The Dam Grill a chance not to screw up breakfast. But once again, they proved us wrong: nothing has improved … in fact, it may have gotten worse! If you figure there’s not much to screw up with a simple, 4 element egg plate, you too would be wrong!
- Egg ordered over medium, received over hard.
- Texas toast dry and cold - just the way people like their toast, certainly. (Also not sure it was Texas toast - the preparation was not.)
- Sausage patty my fork couldn’t sever into a bite.
- Butter for the cold toast was cold, too.
- Hash browns, to their credit, I do have to give them credit were crisped in both sides, even if the portion was about 1/3 that it should be (tariffs influence, no doubt).
- Orange ‘juice’ that was either old or a powdered mix?! Awful!

After tossing various theories around we landed on the most likely: everything but the eggs prepared in advance and kept under a warming light explains … well, some of it.

Atypically there were only two cars in the parking lot on this beautiful Sunday morning, but they only serve breakfast until 10:30- another head-scratcher that has prompted us to go elsewhere in the past.

Unfortunately we’re back to seeking out other breakfast places bc of the quality of food (or lack thereof).

Today we had the grilled chicken salad and a Jr Cheese Burger, both were wonderful! Bobbie took great care of us and the sweet tea was cold and sweet!!!

Cute little place with good service and good food. Very down home kind of feel with a western theme on the walls. We were greeted right away and our waitress was sweet. The fries needed some seasoning or salt for my taste and my burger was a bit on the dry side but a little ketchup and mayo fixed that up.

I walked in at 10:40am and was told breakfast wasn’t available as they were transitioning to lunch and once they finished cooking the breakfast orders my order would be taken… approximately 11:00 I ordered the daily special which happened to be a chicken salad sandwich with chips and a cup of spicy chili at 11:15 I got 4oz of chicken salad cut with hard boiled eggs on a hamburger roll and 16 potato chips, 11:22 I received maybe a 6oz portion of watery chili in a styrofoam cup barely bigger than a ramekin. The food wasn’t atrocious, but severely overpriced and the I only saw my server once the entire time I was there. After waiting several minutes for the server to bring me a check I went to the register and had the hostess get it for me. 11:35 I had learned my $16 lesson and departed. I hadn’t thought to take a picture of the sorry sandwich and chips, here is a pic of the chili

Food was good all the normal stuff, polite service, nice atmosphere at a reasonable price.

The meatloaf special tasted good but was cold. The mashed potatoes were real, not boxed but no seasoning at all and again not very warm. The biscuit was so old needed a knife to cut it in half! My husband’s Philly Cheese looked great and you could see the steam coming off of it.

this is one of the best restaurants around. we eat there at least once a week and have for several years. I have never had a bad meal here, the personell are all friendly and prompt, and the menu is excellent! I highly recommend Dam Grill!

Food was good, classic home food. We ordered biscuits and gravy, was told 15 min later they had no more biscuits. 2 more people that came in after us (locals?) got biscuits. Waited about 30 minutes for our food.

Really nice waitress. She was friendly and quick. The food is good. I ordered the chopped steak with gravy, okra, mashed potatoes, and a house salad. The ranch dressing was really good. So was the gravy. The chopped steak was kinda tough to cut. I did order it extremely well done, but it's just hamburger meat. It's not an actual steak, so I don't believe it should have been that tough when cutting. It had good flavor, though. I thought the price for the club sandwich was absolutely outrageous. Thought it had to be a typo. It was $12.95. The online menu is a year old. It says $10.95. I just think that's high for a sandwich. Someone from our table ordered one, and I didn't see anything special about the sandwich to justify the price. The rest of the prices are decent and expected with what we've dealt with over the last 4 years of price hikes and inflation. All around, it's definitely worth stopping in and trying out. Clean restaurant. Looks bigger on the inside than from the road.
