Based on the reviews, Native Son Family Restaurant is a wonderful small, cozy setting with a neat local vibe in an old building. The food is incredible, absolutely delicious, and amazing. Specific meals mentioned include homemade chicarrones with ranch romoulade, red fish with butter sauce, brussels, bacon, butter beans and buerre monte, gumbo canard, warm banana pudding with bruleed banana, the BEST waffle fries, smoked pork chop and cheese grits, airline chicken breast and sweet potatoes, fire roasted oysters, grilled catfish, and fried catfish. The service is impeccable, very attentive, and aims to please. The staff is warm, welcoming, and very friendly, and the owner checks on guests. It is a comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable place. Highly recommend and a must return.
