The Palo Duro Trading Post is a tiny shop with an eclectic collection of trinkets and souvenirs. Despite often being quite crowded, the shop remains clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Guests can grab a bite to eat, try some ice cream, and pick out souvenirs. The restaurant serves fantastic food, including the best cheeseburger many have had in years, making it a great place to stop after descending into the canyon. Seats are available both inside and outside, and there is a self-service condiment bar for customizing meals. The Trading Post also has a variety of snack-type items and thirst quenchers, making it a pleasant stop during a visit to Palo Duro State Park.
