Koi sushi and izakaya

Good first time experience for lunch.

Had fried squid for an appetizer. Some of the better fried squid I’ve had in a while. I’d say it was better than Mr Max.

Had the sushi and ramen for my lunch entree. Sushi had a nice presentation and tasted great. Nigiri was on the small side (both rice and fish). The ramen portion, on the other hand, was pretty big. The slices of pork had a deep, smoky, rich flavor. The half egg on top was hard boiled not soft boiled. Something was a bit off with the noodle texture, perhaps a little overcooked?

Surprised at the sushi quality esp for Carrollton area! They have really good lunch specials with sushi + soba combos $22 (soba was meh - noods overcooked a bit and broth overall umami wasn’t for me) Izakaya dishes were all pretty solid tho. Very cute and cozy and really affordable prices!

It was my first time visiting... I had a good meal.
The sushi was very delicious...and the staff was friendly^^
Lastly, I ordered two cakes for dessert.
I ordered an extra one, but a little while later, the employee asked if I could exchange it for another one because they had run out, so I said yes.
But when I got home and looked at the bill, I saw that cake was included on the bill;;; We ate 2, but there were 3 in total, so I thought about calling, but didn't~; I think it would have been better if there were a lot of customers, but it was busy... but it's a bit disappointing.

I saw my waitress twice. Once to take my order (at which time she forgot to add one of the items I ordered). The second time was to get my payment. Enough said? No water refill. I could have ordered 3 more beers but left to drink the one served at the beginning of the meal. I don't recommend this establishment due to the horrible service given. I think I had my invisible cloke on.

The vibe of the place is impeccable. It's nice and good atmosphere. The waitresses' attention is very good and we didn't have to wait. The cold soba was delicious and the sushi was well served. Yes I'm going to return :)

This place was amazing, heads up it is small so I suggest come early before the dinner rush, they start you off with complimentary Edamame which was nice. Sushi and Ramen dishes were really tasty !!! Went with Sonju wanted to try something different far as alcoholic beverage , little bottle pack a punch lol.

Fish quality is far better than Sushi Kadan and Kura, and slightly better than Sushi Kushi. Menu items are spontaneous in terms of variety. Price is towards to medium-high category as a single nigiri is $4 here - usually places like this averages around $2.50~$3 per nigiri. Service is superb and ambiance is good. The major issue was most tables were occupied by owner’s social circle. It leaves you wonder if regular paying customers don’t deserve the same quality of attention and service. Beer price is definitely among the highest in Dallas - $7 for a small bottle. If you order two beer here, you can buy a whole case of 12-pack across the street at 7/11.
