Service was great and welcoming but the food I have to say was not, I had peppered beef and fried rice. The beef was very fatty and very cold and the fried rice tasted like it was a cheap instant brown rice with absolutely no taste. The beef had a gravy that almost resembled a KFC brown gravy for mashed potatoes really weird. I said something a few times but I didn't really get any one to resolve the situation with the cold food I received. I ended up just paying my check and going to Panda Express ??‍♂️ at least their food is hot and fresh.

Be forewarned. This restaurant was good before it changed ownership a few years ago. We're not overly picky, and we gave them multiple chances to provide us with some decent takeout food. Chicken in Garlic Sauce is not hard to make, but there was hardly any chicken in it, and the vegetables consisted of mostly bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. Each time we found their food unacceptable, we called and let them know. They replaced the problematic food free of charge when we got takeout again, but they never got it right. We would have liked to remain customers because we live very close to this restaurant, but they failed us repeatedly.

Staff are friendly and welcoming, the food on the other hand is unappealing and off putting. While American Chinese food seldom resembles actual Chinese, the food here more closely resembles wet cat food. See photos for referenceKing Pao should be a light spicy and savory dish, with a few peanuts, carrots, scallions, peppers, and water chestnuts with a soy sauce base. Chinese Dragon's King Pao is a sad mix of chicken, celery, peanuts, and water chestnuts drown in peanut sauce with a pinch of chili flakes. For this year of the Dragon I think it best to avoid this Chinese Dragon.

Had the beef and broccoli and it's just not good; soupy brown sauce covered what tasted like old, fatty rendered beef, the veggies in the dish tasted better but not by much. Rice was dry and overcooked. My eggrolll was not fresh and must have been sitting under a heat lamp for quite sometime. The service and staff were nice, but would recommend eating here at all.

If you look at my previous reviews you will see I don't take them lightly as I wont this one. This was one of the most amazing meals I have had in Bastrop county. We arrived at about 545pm on Dec 27 (a Wednesday) and immediately seat in a both where we greeted by a young lady waitress with a smile. Telling her this was our first visit and asking for a suggestions and she took her time with us and explained and answered all our question.. We placed our appetizer order The Bo Bo Plate for 2 and not only was the presentation amazing but the quality and the taste was fantastic. We then ordered our ontrees. I ordered the Shrimp in Lobster sauce and my other half ordered Kung Pao Chicken.. We both enjoyed immensely. Emma the owner came out to check on us a number of times.. If I had one issue its paying $3.50 for Ice tea.. Other then that I can honestly tell you that you will love this place

A bit off the beaten path for bastrop, but this is a hidden gem! By far the best Chinese food in bastrop, and rivals, if not surpasses any Chinese food of our big neighbors to the west. I had the jalapeño chicken, egg roll and hot and sour soup, all were excellent. Beware! The hot mustard, served on request, is not the weak little blister packets available at most Chinese places... theirs is the real deal and probably the hottest I've had in Texas! YUM/OUCH

Mine and my husbands first visit here and we are so grateful to have found this place. Overall impressed with the food portions, the atmosphere, and the overall customer service was *chefs kiss*. Our waitress, which now I’m putting two and two together based on the other reviews to be the owner, was phenomenal. We had our youngest 1 year old with us and she was so charismatic and kind, she just won us over. The food was quick to come out. I ordered general Taos and an egg drop soup and it was the best I’ve had in a long time. We will def be back again!
