I like this place. It's in a small Texas town and the food is pretty good. It's got ample parking. When I was there the server was very attentive and friendly. I got a three meat plate. The brisket was tender and moist with good smoke but I felt like it was mediocre on the seasoning, same with the pork rib. It's by no means bad but they could kick it up a notch. The sausage was also good but I think putting a personal spin on it would help put them on the map so to speak a bit more. The sides were solid too, I have had worse and I have had better. Obviously the meat is the star of the show but good sides can really make a difference.I also got a catfish plate. I don't eat enough catfish to make a comparison but I will say the fish tasted good. I was expecting a couple filets but they were small pieces 'bites'. Breading was not bad but I that it might be more of a crispy type breading. Texture wise I thought it was closer to KFC. I enjoyed it but I probably wouldn't get it again but only because I like bigger filet type pieces. They also have steaks ? but I have not tried them, I'll have to give them a try next time. And for dessert I had a pecan cobbler but it seemed like pecan pie to me. However it was delicious ?. Overall I think the prices are pretty good. When I stopped in there were quite a few locals. Listening to them chat about town was entertaining. Lovely Texas drawls and funny stories added a nice experience to everything. The building don't look like much but it fits in with the town and they don't pretend it's something it's not. I bet that town was a lot of fun in the 70's and 80's.If you're driving though it's probably worth a stop. They have a little bit of interesting memorabilia and the food is decent. It's a good way to support a local business and a small town and you might get to enjoy some local characters. ?

Truckers, truckers, truckers. The menu pics posted previously was missing the meats. I ordered the texas size food basket. It was good, the meaty beans side was delish. The fries were a bit soggy, overcooked to my taste, but everything else was good. Danielle the server/host who took my order over the phone (using a hands free devise) was very nice n kind. I would definitely comeback.Dine in had a rustic atmosphere. Felt like a buker, so I took my food to go. Snott makers friendly i guess. I would've dined in if i had the time.U can pull in n out when they r not busy w ur semi, but u r better off to park at the Alon a few min walk away.

I plan my drive between home in Dallas & kids in Colorado to be able to stop at Loves for their sliced BBQ beef sandwich.Seriously, I plan the drive so I’ll hit Chillicothe when they’re open & serving. It’s so good, I don’t even use the sauce. Grab it & head on down the road.I’m just sayin’ ….. R

Favorite place for BBQ. Haven't had anything that wasn't amazing. Walking in the door the first time and I could tell just from the atmosphere that it was going to be good and it certainly didn't disappoint. Stop here most everyday for lunch when I'm in town working.

Took my father here since he was visiting from out of town and I'd read a TON of positive reviews. Is the food good? I couldn't tell you. I ordered their specialty house burger. Server said tbe sauce had "a little heat to it". I like a little heat, so I'm good, right? One drop of that sauce was so hot, it took me 6 minutes just to cool my tongue. I'd have loved a bottle of mustard and ketchup. But, I sat there, minute after minute, even watched my server walk by my UNTOUCHED food, while I RAISED MY HAND FOR ATTENTION, and she looked down at her order pad and walked by. Over 10 minutes, I sat. My family was eating. I wasn't. After FIFTEEN MINUTES, she FINALLY comes to check on the table and asks if everything tastes okay, STILL IGNORING MY UNTOUCHED PLATE. I had to actually point out the fact that I hadn't eaten a bit, and NOW, I don't want the burger. Took them 20 minutes to serve it the 1st time. I've been sitting here for over an hour and a half, and didn't get to eat. My family did. They seemed to enjoy it. HORRIBLE service. I doubt I'll ever return.

As others have noted it's a dive or hole in the wall. It's a bit dirty or dingy. The St. Louis ribs were lean with good flavor and smoke. They were properly/perfectly cooked short of falling off the bone. They were slightly dry perhaps due to the holding method or length of time.I liked the meaty beans. The coleslaw (creamy) was good but needed a bit of salt.My wife had the german sausage and said it was fine. The server and other employees were attentive, efficient, and very pleasant and welcoming.I would return.Parking: Beside building off street.

Enjoyed the rib eye. The potato salad was also good, but portion was way too small.

Great little spot for the whole family while on a family road trip. The server was very accommodating for my little one. The wife loved the shrimp platter and my brisket plate was great!

It's a bit of a dive/rustic but don't judge a book by its cover, the food and service was great!

Don’t let the outside deceive you. This was by far the BEST STEAK I’ve ever had at a restaurant!!! I usually add steak sauce but this steak doesn’t need it. Could cut the Ribeye with a fork. Baby Reds and meaty beans were a hit also. Oh, and you must try their fried pickles! Will definitely be back!!!!!
