“I'm glad I was finally able to catch them when they're open. My coffee and burrito both tasted great. It seems like maybe there not a full food menu ask the time, probably a 'this is what we have today' type of thing, and that's fine with me.What a unique and wonderful building, inside and out. I got the owner guy talking a little bit about his collectibles that are on display/sale, and that was a good time. Happily spending my money in a small town, at a (very) small business. Take a few minutes to enjoy the decor, and try not to get offended at the political stabs, it's not that bad. Laugh a little”

“I like this place. It's in a small Texas town and the food is pretty good. It's got ample parking. When I was there the server was very attentive and friendly. I got a three meat plate. The brisket was tender and moist with good smoke but I felt like it was mediocre on the seasoning, same with the pork rib. It's by no means bad but they could kick it up a notch. The sausage was also good but I think putting a personal spin on it would help put them on the map so to speak a bit more. The sides were solid too, I have had worse and I have had better. Obviously the meat is the star of the show but good sides can really make a difference.I also got a catfish plate. I don't eat enough catfish to make a comparison but I will say the fish tasted good. I was expecting a couple filets but they were small pieces 'bites'. Breading was not bad but I that it might be more of a crispy type breading. Texture wise I thought it was closer to KFC. I enjoyed it but I probably wouldn't get it again but only because I like bigger filet type pieces. They also have steaks ? but I have not tried them, I'll have to give them a try next time. And for dessert I had a pecan cobbler but it seemed like pecan pie to me. However it was delicious ?. Overall I think the prices are pretty good. When I stopped in there were quite a few locals. Listening to them chat about town was entertaining. Lovely Texas drawls and funny stories added a nice experience to everything. The building don't look like much but it fits in with the town and they don't pretend it's something it's not. I bet that town was a lot of fun in the 70's and 80's.If you're driving though it's probably worth a stop. They have a little bit of interesting memorabilia and the food is decent. It's a good way to support a local business and a small town and you might get to enjoy some local characters. ?”

“Little run down but very good food, manager was really nice and came out to the dining area and made small talk with the costumers. Only complaint was it was a little slow but a very pleasant and clean restaurant made up for it.”

“Really nice, spacious, well-lit and landscaped. This is one of those travel center type places that are state sponsored and geared towards facilitating tourism (not just your average rest area). Very clean inside and outside, safe and secure, covered picnic area pavilions and even has a playground. Family friendly and a great place to stop during the day or night whether you're a long haul trucker or just a casual traveler.”
