We visited Whistle Stop Cafe for the first time on Sunday. 8/24/25. I’ve heard of it but never found myself in the immediate area. It wasn’t super busy at the time we visited. We had a couple of orders of chicken strips and gravy with fries and a Patty Melt with fries. We ordered Fried Green Tomatoes for an appetizer. $29 (before tip) for a $16.99 catfish platter for the hubby and onion rings for me. The onion rings were horribly undercooked. Still white on the outside & hard on the inside.
They owed us a piece of pie from the last crappy order. We’re done.
I try to support local but there are better local choices.
Excellent food and the beer is always cold… Lots of items on the menu to choose from….Always great and priced right.
