Some of the best food and nicest people in and around San Antonio. I lived in Louisiana for 36 years and moved to San Antonio a little over a year ago. Eating at Elders Family Restaurant takes me back home.
Excellent food. Gumbo, shrimp, bread pudding, soooo good!
Elder's Family Restaurant is a hidden gem that offers a delightful dining experience. The restaurant, which requires advance calls for lunch due to scratch-made meals, is known for its live jazz music and friendly staff, including a standout server named Sam. The menu features impressive dishes such as crawfish pies with well-seasoned rice and soft batter, blackened shrimp po'boys, red beans and rice with sausage, and stellar Boudin. The restaurant also offers delicious stuffed shrimp and blackened catfish, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking for a memorable meal.
